CSS Weekend Reflections Newsletter by Confidential Search Solutions |
Greetings!
Happy New Year! Our "CSS Weekend Reflections Newsletter" is back, the unemployment rate is down to 8.5%, the NBA season is in full swing, and the San Antonio Spurs beat both the Dallas Mavericks and the Houston Rockets this month. Go Spurs go! What a great way to start the New Year!
Congratulations to the National Association of Women Business Owner's (NAWBO) Entrepreneurial Spirit Award's (ESA's) Winners and Finalists in San Antonio. The winners were announced at a first class event hosted by Rick Cavender at Cavender Audi dealership and co-sponsored by Wells Fargo. While selected as a finalist, I was personally humbled by the privilege to be in the room with such an outstanding group of women business owners, along with the six winners and other finalists.
I am totally excited about this year and am thankful to those who have supported us from our inception. Those most appreciated are our senior business partners, corporate clients, professionals we represent, dedicated vendors and most of all our families and friends who support our vision. It is an awesome experience to create something from nothing and see it grow. I am a better me because of each of you. Thank you for your support.
In closing, make this year, your year. Make it your year to fly high, climb higher, attend one of our classes, dance fast, swim faster, jump up, rise earlier, and thank those who helped you to do it all better.
Have a Prosperous New Year!
Respectfully,

TJ Haygood, Founder/CEO

Featured Weekend Reflections for Employers |
Live, Work, & Manage With Passion
You rise up in the morning, conduct your normal routine, and head for the office. Then it happens, you enter the building and you are still in charge of the same professionals you had last week. What is going through your mind when you think about your staff? Are you motivated because they are? Are they smart, energized, and motivated to contribute to the organizations bottom line? Or are you demotivated because they are? Do you think of them as inconsiderate, undesirable, and unworthy of your time? Regardless of what others think, what you think is what really matters. You are the one entrusted to lead/manage your team. It is not up to them to lead/manage you, but you to lead/manage them. This concept is becoming a lost art form in the digital divide and social media generation. People are more intuitive than we give them credit for. Whether we say it or not, most employees know when they are appreciated or not, by their managers. Therefore ask yourself, are you demonstrating sincere passion for leading, mentoring, and developing your people? If not, we invite you to reignite that passion for the position you are in, not for a position you desire. Companies need you now to step up to the plate and be a results oriented leader who can bring the best out of their people. Take charge and recharge your team with passion to become a high performing one. It is a winning combination for all. Call us if you need some professional coaching to motivate you to do what you are more than capable of doing. We have an amazing team of professional coaches who can help you reignite the passion for what you do. It is in you to live, work, and manage with passion. You have to believe it. "Whether you think you can or think you can't you're right!- Henry Ford. Increase your value to the company and your team and do what Tony Robbins recommends, "Live with Passion!"

Three Things Professionals Do That Can Hinder Their Career Growth
Featured Thoughts by Patsy Foxworth
1. They Drift with Random Thoughts:
Ms. Patsy Foxworth, President of NAWBO-SA, and one of our professional coaches and independent business partners, said this in one of her recent blogs, "Our thoughts run rampant, all the time, whether we are awake or sleep. We are thinking. So how do we reign in all those thoughts? Especially all those random thoughts. Never can really. However, we can work to eliminate the negative, the all consuming thoughts that tend to "drag us down". We all have a little monster inside of us that is constantly tearing away at the good we work towards. It seems that little monster wants to come out and play more and more. All those "you can't do that"; "are you crazy"; "wait a minute so-and-so will have a field day with you over that"; or "your mom would kill you if you did that"; or even "that isn't even possible - you've never even come close". If you listen and follow these thoughts how are you ever going to achieve beyond where you are? It has been found that if one has a routine - a system in place for shutting down the negative thoughts, it helps to..." Click here to see the rest of the sto ry.
2. They Talk too Much:
Have you ever heard the expression, "diarrhea of the mouth?" It is often used by recruiters and managers to describe a job seeker or employee who talks too much while in an interview or at work. The person continues to talk, and talk, and talk, and talk. Sometimes they do not have a clue that others are uninterested in their conversation. One way to control this is to pay close attention to the behavior of others when you are talking with them. If people are focusing on anything or anyone else other than you while you are talking, that is your first clue. Use a slight distraction like gum very discreetly, to help you minimize the habit of talking too much.
3. They Do Not Ask for Help:
Most managers have experienced this and it is very frustrating when they do. Their are some employees who pretend to know things or what they are assigned to do, when in fact, they do not. It is one thing to have confidence, which is good. It is another thing to deceive or lie about what you know and then believe your manager will not know. They do know. Managers see more than most employees realize. Trust me. We do. It may take them a while but they will eventually have to take action. Which means your job could be on the line. Therefore, be honest. Do not be afraid to ask for help when you need it. All managers want their people to succeed. It helps them.
