CSS Weekend Reflections Newsletter by Confidential Search Solutions |
Greetings!
As of today, Friday Factoids & Weekend Reflections is officially Weekend Reflections at least until we acquire our first marketing intern to manage and produce our monthly newsletter. Friday Factoids will now be a section below within our Weekend Reflections' newsletter highlighting the latest employment trends and unemployment numbers that are reported on the first Friday of each month.
With so much going on between writing new request for proposals (RFPs), filling new direct hire job orders, closing deals with affiliated partners, and expanding our contract staffing, career coaching, and outplacement services, it is hard for us to keep up with writing our own newsletter. Therefore, now we are looking for our first marketing intern from one of our local colleges with a major in advertising, marketing, communications, or journalism. If you know someone, please have them to contact us immediately.
There are so many more things we are excited to share with you. To begin, as of May 8, 2011, Confidential Search Solutions will officially celebrate our 2nd year in business and on May 28, 2011, we will celebrate our 2nd year as a LLC in the State of Texas. We are so excited about our ability to make it to this point. We not only survived but we have been able to thrive during the recent recession.
The other good news is in the fall of last year, on October 8, 2010, we officially filed for a trademark on our logo with the help of Raj Abhyanker, PC, a law firm specializing in trademarks out of Mountain View, CA. This was a daunting task for a relatively new and small company, but with their help we took action and filed our application. We are now excited to share that as of April 21, 2011, Our CSS logo is officially trademarked and published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in Washington DC. Please celebrate this major milestone with us by linking with us and wishing us well on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
We thank you for supporting our service and the individual members of our team. Your support gives us additional energy to fuel our success along with God's grace and favor. Thank you for allowing us to share these historical moments with you. What was once a conception in my mind is now a reality documented in the historical agency of the USPTO.
Whatever successes you may have, regardless of how small or how large, celebrate them and celebrate them with others. With so many negative influences to cloud our minds and interrupt our day, give yourself and others something to celebrate by sharing your successes every chance you get. Thank you again for being a part of our success story.
Have a great weekend!
Respectfully,

TJ Haygood, CPC

Employment Trends
According to a Friday, May 6, 2011,Washington Post article, over 244,000 new jobs were added in April. This was a significant increase from the 221,000 jobs added in March. While the unemployment rate also rose slightly from 8.8 back to 9%, some of the economist believe this was a correction in the financial data from previous periods.
The above numbers originated from the financial data submitted by the Department of Labor for April and previous periods. However many of us in the recruiting and staffing industry have also seen an increase in job orders from both private and publicly held companies. This major increase is the highest numbers in 5 years.
It is now time to step up your "A Game" and make sure you are doing what you need to do to put yourself in the best situation possible to be considered for these growing opportunities. However, if you currently have a job, do not be so quick to look for a new one. The grass is not always greener on the other side. As we often say, positions are open for a reason and those reasons may not be in your best interest.
One of the benefits of working with a search firm like ours is we bring the right people to the right companies at the right time, so you can make the right decisions. We do not make decisions for our client companies or the professionals we represent, but we do make sure we provide them with the best options available for both parties, allowing them to make the best informed decisions. We are like professional match makers. We enjoy the role we play in assisting those we are privileged to serve.
Have a Great Weekend! |

How Do You Make a Difference
In The Lives of Others?
The volunteers from the San Antonio Human Resource Management Association (SAHRMA) on your left made a difference this past week in the professional lives of their peers as they worked hard to ensure the South Texas HR Symposium at the Henry B. Gonzales Center on May 2-3, 2011 was a great event. They had awesome guest speakers and participants from all around the state.
To get involved according to Merriam-Webster's online dictionary, means to engage as a participate and to commit emotionally. Many times we believe we are involved at work or in our community because we are physically there. However, I would challenge you to take it to the next level. Get emotionally involved to the point of genuinely showing how much you care about the people you serve and work with in addition to the mission at hand. As a result, you will be positioned to potentially improve someone's quality of life and future career just because you got involved.
As we manned our booth over those two days, our lives were truly blessed by the people we met and the conversations we shared. Get out and get involved. You can make a difference in the lives of others at work, at home, and/or in your local community. Make a difference today! |

Networking is the #1 Way to Find a Job
Featured Article from Our Online Career Portal Service
Over 50% of job seekers credit "networking" for their success in finding a job. When someone refers you to a hiring authority, there is an inferred level of trust. You are often referred to someone who is not actively interviewing, so there is NOT a stack of resumes on their desk.
You never know WHO someone knows. You need to network with everyone you know who is currently working. They may not be working in your field of interest but that doesn't mean they don't know someone in your targeted area of interest.
When you are involved in an active job search, you should be adding at least one person to your professional network daily. Make sure you bring in your mail, grocery shop and complete other routine tasks when you have the best chance of running into people who are employed.
