Greetings!
Season's Greetings and Happy Holidays! Can you believe 2011 is less than 30 days away? Are you closer to achieving your 2010 personal or professional career goals and objectives? Or are you internalizing some form of regret because you did not obtain the job you wanted, go on that planned summer vacation, or complete the project/class/degree you started?
Learn from our corporate giants and use this month to take a personal inventory or conduct your own internal variance analysis of your personal and professional goals versus your actual results. Review your key indicators that affected your positive and negative outcomes and eliminate those activities and contributing factors that held you back from being more productive in your life.
Yes, the unemployment rate has increased to 9.8% in November and there are rumors that it can still get worse after a record breaking 19 months of consecutive unemployment rates over 9%. However, there are companies who are still hiring. In fact, due to normal attrition, 20-24% of a company's workforce will continue to resign, get promoted, get fired, or leave for medical and other personal reasons. These occurrences will continue to create unplanned vacancies. This information and more was shared on our most recent webinar this past week entitled: "New Year, New Job: How to Get Hired Fast During the Holiday Season." If you missed it, take the time to click on the above link to register and hear the reply on our career portal before December 8th. Our two internationally known guest speakers share several advanced tactics and recruiter secrets that will give you an advantage over average job seekers. If you are employed and do not need a job, please share this information with those who are still searching. This is our gift to you. We encourage you to share this gift with your family and friends.
Have a wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!
Respectfully,
TJ Haygood & The Entire CSS Team |

Weekend Reflections
Where are the Heroes & Heroines in the Workplace?
According to a popular online dictionary, the word hero (men) and heroine (female) comes from a Greek word that refers to a demigod. Later, the same word referred to people who in spite of great adversity, danger, or even weaknesses, displayed great courage and the will to accomplish an act of service for the greater good of someone or a group of people. So with that train of thought, what makes a 16 year old track star in California, an unidentified individual who leaked military and governemental secrets to wikileaks.org, in addition to firemen, police officers, military members, or underdogs on a professional sports team be considered a hero? Think about it. It is not about whether a person deserves the title or not, but rather, what is it about their actions that move others to see them as a hero?
Through my lenses as a military family and part of a community that values the sacrifice of military service, it appears that we need an infusion of more professionals in the workplace who are willing to become heroes and heroines within their respective organizations. With companies failing, revenues dropping, cutbacks happening, and more layoffs coming, all employers need their employees to do their absolute best and even more with often less during this recession. Employers are looking for people who are willing to work even harder in spite of how tired they are or how many other tasts they are responsible for doing. They need people who are willing to invest their resources and their extra time for the greater good of their employers and fellow co-workers.
Times are hard for 16 million unemployed people but also for many companies (especially non-profit organizations) struggling just to stay in business. As a result, this is not the time to complain about your boss or your company, nor is it time to ask for a raise. It is time for extreme cooperation and collaborative participation for the greater good of the company and ultimately our country. Be a hero/heroine today in your workplace. You can make a difference. From All of Us at Confidential Search Solutions
