| Weekend Reflections Newsletter by CSS |
Greetings!
Can you believe we are already in September? I love this month for so many reasons to include: the beautiful autumn colors and fall leaves; the hustle and bustle of school children reconnecting with old friends and making new ones; and the celebration of another day of life as I celebrate my 49th birthday this year on September 11th. Many years ago I used to think about and anticipate the excitement of receiving loving gifts from my family and friends. Yet, things are different now. Like many Americans, I too reflect on the thousands of lives that were lost and the families that were shattered on that infamous day back in 2001. In fact, the hostage situation this week at Discovery Channel's headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland, on September 1st, was a brutal reminder of how very fragile life can be. For the reasons listed above, we should embrace every day as if it was our first day of life because each day is a new beginning of a day we have never experienced before. Make the most of it. Open your eyes to new possibilities with renewed excitement. Try it! For instance, take another route to work, or use a different mode of transportation. Call an old friend and car pool once a week to catch up on old times while reducing your gas consumption. Go to a new restaurant for lunch or support a different grocery store for dinner. If you watch FOX News, change to CNN or if you watch CNN, change to FOX News for a day. If you watch Sports Channels, turn to the Disney Channel or History Channel for a week. You will be amazed at how interesting and exciting life can be when you embrace it from another perspective.
As you prepare yourself for this wonderful 3-day weekend take the time to do nothing for a few hours. Get some sleep and extra needed rest. Rejuvenate your mind, body, soul, and spirit and come alive again. Enjoy the fun, food, and fellowship of old and new friends. Have a wonderful holiday weekend and call us if we can help you. We look forward to working with you.
Respectfully,
TJ Haygood, Founder & CEO

Weekend Reflections
Do You Believe Your Best Days are Yet to Come?
Do you look at the past with fond memories and regret that things are not like they used to be? Or, do you sit and reflect on how you can't wait weeks, months, or even years from now when you know things will get better?
There is not a day that goes by when I do not hear people express at least one of those opinions. Yet the reality is, tomorrow might not be better and yesterday may not be the best of what is in store for you. In actuality this point of your life is your future from yesteryears and your past tomorrow. Therefore, today is the most precious treasure you possess because in it is the reflection of both history and hope wrapped up together like a hoagie sandwich from New York or a Gyro from Greece.
While it is advisable to plan for our futures, as educators and financial planners would suggest. Likewise, it is important to learn from our past, as historians and financial analysts would share. As a suggestion, I would like to encourage each reader to stop for a moment and embrace each day, today, as a wonderful and beautiful gift that it is.
Let us not allow an unproductive employee or a difficult senior manager spoil an awesome day created with precision for us to enjoy. Let us not allow an increase or decrease in the temperature outside or a slow moving vehicle on the road negatively impact our personalities or frame of mind. Additionally, let us not allow a broken computer or an empty bank account determine how you describe your moment from this day forward. In fact, do not allow anything or anybody destroy your ability to see the world from the eyes of a child or a homeless person who is just thankful for the basic necessities of life.
Give your best every day as a manager, employee, parent, spouse, or friend. This is a great country we live in and a wonderful time to be alive in spite of what is going on around us. Continue to support our men and women in the military and our public servants in our cities, states, and country. Lift up your eyes to the sky and enjoy the shapes, sizes, and reflections of the clouds, the sunshine, the rain, the lightening bolts and rainbows or whatever you can see, because sight by itself is a beautiful gift of life.
See this day as a day to embrace your job with new vigor or your job search with new zest. Stand out, stand up, and make of a living being your best today.
