Weekend Reflections Newsletter by CSS
Small LogoHappy Friday!

Greetings!

Brian ShumakerWhile traveling this week to Michigan to visit my parents and speak for a Christian women's event, I flew into a major storm that included tornado warnings and watches in the surrounding areas.  I was quickly reminded of how fragile life is.  As we have heard repeated, "time stands still for no one," regardless of how much we have on our plates to do.   Yet, immediately after the storm was over, we were relieved and thankful for a moment before we quickly jumped back into the fast pace and complexities of life.

As you end this week with your agendas for next week and journals from last week, remember to take the time to just "be."  Be still, be quiet, be kind, be considerate, behave, be wise, be thankful, and be inspired to live each day to its fullest with no regrets.  Life's too short to not give it your absolute best and enjoy every moment of it.

Even if a wind storm, a tornado, a sickness, a death, or a hurricane comes your way, those are realities that we will have to endure with the assistance of our faith, family, and friends to help us through it.  However, do not worry about what could happen or what might happen.  Just do the best you can to enjoy every minute of this wonderful experience we call life right now.  Take the time and the resources you were given and make it magical.  Dream Big and Dream like there is no tomorrow.  Dreams and wishes do come true.  Enjoy!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Respectfully,
TJ Haygood, Founder & CEO

Weekend Reflections
It is Not Always About the Money

As executive recruiters representing global and nationally known organizations, we are privileged to represent some of the best places to work in the local area and around the country.  We talk to countless professionals who are open to discuss the various positions we represent, some graciously decline to consider new job opportunities while others are intrigued to learn more.

What we have learn from those who have declined positions offering a significant pay increase is, it is not always about the money.  Believe it or not, that is music to our ears.  When employees are motivated by money and money alone, they do not typically have any loyalty to their current employers or any other company in the future.  Our clients; however, want people who are relatively loyal in order to gain the return on their recruiting and training investment dollars.  As a consequence, we look for people who are not motivated by money alone.   Our goal is to find people who are highly qualified, committed to the same values as our clients, and are self motivated to be their best in any environment.

Our clients know, it is far less expensive to keep an employee than it is to replace one over and over again.  The lost training dollars, corporate knowledge, and production time can be significant, to a company.  Hiring managers are therefore using creative resources to build loyalty.  They are adding valuable and unique employee benefits to help build a more stable and loyal employee base to include yoga classes on site, extra time off for volunteering in the local community, more flexible work schedules, trips, childcare on site, and other perks to name a few.

Employers who have low turnover often understand the importance of what we refer to at CSS as the "Three Rs of Retention", (respect, recognition, and rewards).  We equally look for professionals who mirror those same quality traits for the exceptional clients we are blessed to represent.  If you look beyond the money, you may actually find a rewarding career with a company that is absolutely awesome for you and your family.  Make sure you consider all aspects of a company (and companies likewise should consider all aspects of an employee) before you make your final decision to accept a job (or hire an employee).  Professional match making is what we do best.  If you need help on either side, call us.  We will look out for you.

Enjoy your weekend!
