Small LogoWelcome back to Confidential Search Solutions' Newly Revised Newsletter

Greetings!

Brian ShumakerHappy Friday!
We are thrilled to share with you that the economy is picking up, employers are starting to hire, and we celebrated our first year in business last month.  What a wonderful experience it has been.  It has made us wiser and more excited about the possibilities that are before us as the blessings continue to flow.
We have experienced great successes in the last year to include the following: 1) Recently recognized by UTSA Small Business Development Center as one of the Small Business Leaders in San Antonio.  2) Selected by two national recruiting firms to be their subcontractor of choice for a major RFP(Request For Proposal).  3) Acquired our first multi-billion dollar publicly traded global client contract.  4) Opened up our CSS Training Center for our professional clients to use.  5) Shortened and made some suggested changes to our newsletter based on the results of our survey.
We personally thank each of you who supported us from the beginning.  Without your insight, prayers, guidance, and personal encouragements, we could not have made it this far.  We give special acknowledgement to our spouses, family members, business advisors, and friends.  They never wavered in their belief that we were committed to the success of this organization.  One year down, and many more to come.
Continue to wish us well, pray for us, send referrals our way, and use our services.  Any one of those suggestions will be a continuous blessing to our long term success.  Know in return, you too will benefit. Why?  Simply because, working with us is like a summer vacation; it is truly an enjoyable experience.
Respectfully,
TJ Haygood, Founder & CEO

Friday Factoids for Employers & Employees:
The Way You Handle Unpleasant Things is Really Who You Are...

We recently installed solar energy and radiant barrier products in our home to increase our renewable energy efficiency levels.  One of the installers, made a judgement error that caused major damage to our home.  Prior to the error, we were excited.  Afterwards, we were very disappointed and interested in how they were going to resolve the issue to restore our home back to its original state.  What we learned from that experience was this, people are who they are when things go awry and are faced with an unpleasant situation.  As a result of how the company handled the error (installers and managers), we will definitely work with them again.  They demonstrated the same level of professionalism, superior service, and dedication to us as their valued customer.

Remember to do and be your best at all times.  At the end of the day, the outcome may be outside your control, but your reputation as a manager, customer, supplier, or business owner could actually become more valuable to your  organization or customer base than ever before and the rewards are sweet.

Advancement Requires Investment

The dividends can be rewarding.
Advance
In a closed boardroom, putting all of their cards on the table, many managers do not have a difficult time naming their top two to three best performers within their organization.  The professional characteristics and personal qualities are usually similar across industry lines and functional roles.  They are generally people who invest time and energy into their company to help it succeed.  They tend to be loyal, dedicated, hardworking, and often times selfless as they give unselfishly to help others succeed.  I can think of great leaders from my previous employer who exemplified those wonderful traits and were subsequently rewarded and recognized for their contributions.

If you want to advance in your company, take the time to invest in it.  The dividends can be rewarding.  Remember, if three people are up for promotion, two of the three will be disappointed with the final results.  Do not become side tracked if you are not selected for a promotion.  Be thankful you were considered and continue to work as if you received it.  Because many managers will watch you actually closer to see how you handle adverse situations.  It may be the way you handle the disappointment that will give you thumbs-up next time.
