The US Army is revamping the "Ma Deuce" M2 .50-caliber machine gun to reduce malfunctions that have caused a surprising number of injuries over the years.

Along with bottle-nose dolphins, the US Navy is now using camera-equipped California sea lions to hunt for mines, detect enemy divers, and run underwater recon.

In the military's continuing effort to enhance a soldier's underwear, the latest developments are physiological-sensing undergarments that measure heart rate, respiration, skin temperature, and body posture.

To provide security for this summer's Olympic Games in London, the security firm G4S is looking to hire 10,000 armed guards who will take orders not from the company, but from Games security officials.
