'Drop in Colorado'

Drop In Colorado White Background We at CYC are excited to launch the Drop In Colorado Campaign in an effort to get youth who have dropped out of school reengaged and on the road towards a high school diploma. Partners include the City and County of Denver, Denver Public Schools, Aurora Public Schools, and Boulder Valley School District. Together, we hope to reach young people and their influencers through this text messaging campaign that directs individuals to a quick and easy website to gather basic information and provide different educational options. As young people text CYC and visit the appropriate website address for their geographic area, staff members will follow up to provide support and guidance throughout the process of re-enrollment.

Volunteers Needed!

Are you good at math (or other core subjects) and like working with teenagers? If so, CYC is the organization for you. Please help us continue to help youth, ages 14-18, through tutoring in core subjects such as math and science. We are currently looking for volunteer tutors to work at certain high schools in Aurora Public Schools, Denver Public Schools and the Boulder Valley School District.

Volunteers are committed to serving one hour a day, at least one day per week until 12/7/2012 (end of the semester). Volunteers must be 18 and older and pass a background check. Please contact Sharla Williams, 303.292.2779 ext. 118 or sharlaw@youthforachange.org. Learn more about CYC's programs at www.youthforachange.org.
