School Stops for Summer
Learning NEVER should

It is important to work with your child throughout the summer to prevent learning loss and prepare for the upcoming school year.  You can help prevent the "summer slide" by visiting our local libraries, parks, museums, staying active and incorporating learning into your child's summer days.

Boone County Schools are excited to provide you with a list of educational resources including grade specific information and activities.  Complete lists for elementary and middle school levels are available on our website http://www.boone.kyschools.us/ .  At the high school level, students should have already received information tied to their specific courses.

We hope you are having a safe, healthy and happy summer!

Bill Coleman Volunteer Award

The late Bill Coleman was a charter member of the Boone County Community Education Advisory Council. Bill never missed a meeting in the entire 25 year history he served!

In an effort to honor Bill and our many committed volunteers, The Bill Coleman Volunteer Award is given annually at the June Board of Education Meeting.

This year we have two outstanding recipients of the Bill Coleman Volunteer Award:

Carl Hennigen, Volunteer at North Pointe Elementary School and

Wendi Hicks, Volunteer at Ockerman Elementary School

Boone County Schools applauds their efforts and commitment to the staff and students of the district!

Farewell to the 2011-2012 Student Representative

Blake Kennedy, a 2012 graduate of Conner High School and the 2011-12 Student Representative to the Board of Education, completed his service at last week's meeting.  This fall Blake will be attending Campbellsville College on an academic, football and track scholarship.  Congratulations to Blake and thank you for your year of service as student representative.
