This is not your parent's
track and field day!
AMAZING! Field days at RA Jones Middle School have changed. With a focus on having all students physically and mentally active, the Physical Education Program (PEP) teachers created an Amazing Track and Field Day. Like TV's Amazing Race students work in small groups to achieve a variety of tasks earning clues to send them to other countries (events.) Spread out across the entire outdoor area at Jones Middle School, Students visited countries such as Brazil and correctly measured the soccer field. In Argentina, they measured their endurance by pushing a wheelbarrow filled with weights. In China, they tested their knowledge of the human skeletal system. Throughout the day the students worked together to roam the world using their collaborative knowledge, skills and creative thinking. The PEP teachers aim of keeping students physically activity and fully engaged was achieved.
