Regional Youth Leadership Program
The Regional Youth Leadership Program (RYL) held a graduation ceremony last week for its Class of 2012. Forty-seven high school juniors representing 45 different schools from throughout Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati celebrated the completion of the 8-month long leadership program.
Throughout the program, students met once a month at various businesses and organizations across the region. Local community leaders planned and led the class through the interactive sessions where they had the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones and develop individual leadership skills, learn to work together as a team, improve their public speaking, decision making and problem solving skills, discuss a variety of career paths with professionals, and explore financial models for college. Over 700 students and 69 schools have participated in Regional Youth Leadership over the past 18 years.  RYL is currently accepting applications for the 2012-2013 program.  Interested students who are current sophomores should discuss the application process with their school counselor.
