They say "Opportunity Knocks"... But Sometimes it Calls
Bianca Alvarado, Agency Owner, Charlotte, North Carolina
I thought the phone call was a joke. The man on the phone said he was calling on behalf of an ad agency looking for a bilingual agent to do an Allstate commercial. I recommended my husband, JC Alvarado, because he has been an Allstate Exclusive Agent longer than I have. They wanted a female, the man explained. That's when what I initially thought was a joke turned into an amazing opportunity to be in an Allstate TV commercial - none of which would have been possible without the company's support.
The experience of producing the commercial reminded me why I chose to become an Allstate Exclusive Agent in the first place: The company stands by its values. Allstate really does go the extra mile to support agents. They could have chosen an actress for that commercial, but they decided to use a real agent. From the filming in Chicago to the 700+ comments on Facebook after the commercial ran, being in an Allstate ad was an overwhelmingly positive experience. I would love to see other agents get similar opportunities.
Volunteerism is another area in which I feel truly supported by Allstate. Giving back to the local community is a value I share with my husband and we strive to set a strong example for our six-year-old daughter. Thanks to The Allstate Foundation's Agency Hands in the Community Grant program, one of the non-profits we volunteer for is eligible to receive an annual $1,000 grant. It feels really good to know we helped purchase running shoes for at-risk girls and baseball equipment for disadvantaged boys.
Whether it's sending mailers to customers or giving someone like me an unexpected opportunity to be in a commercial, Allstate succeeds in supporting agents on multiple levels. If you become an Allstate agent, you will be able to experience that support too.
