PARKING/DROP OFF, TRAFFIC, & TARDIES
Dear PVS Community,
Some of you may have been wondering about the Portland Police cruiser that was cruising up and down Delaware this morning, as well as, parked nearby in the staff parking area observing. This was a result of a call that was placed to the non-emergency line this morning regarding traffic congestion, the speed at which cars were driving and what appears to be a chaotic drop off system. We do not know who placed the call, however we are understandably concerned.
Please remember to:
- drive NORTH only on Delaware
- utilize the U-Turn drop off system
- not park on both sides of the street in front of the school on Delaware
- use the Farragut lot and walk to school using the cross walk from there
Finally, we'd like to remind everyone that tardy slips are not a tool for chastising students or families. They are a tool we use (one amongst several) to keep track of student attendance. Obviously, safety is our primary goal when we make keeping track of students our priority; however, it is a requirement for our charter and part of the way our school receives funding.
We would graciously accept any volunteer help we could receive from any parent/guardian who would like to help us monitor morning drop off. Stop by the front office or send an email if you're interested in helping.
Thank you,
Miss Rebeckah
