eZuce Product Spotlight: Messaging and Conferencing
eZuce openUC™ includes complete solutions for Unified Messaging (UM), Conferencing, Instant Messaging & Presence, and Mobility.  These solutions can be deployed standalone, adding value to an existing (IP) PBX deployment and facilitating a step-by-step migration from an old system to an all software based communications infrastructure.

openUC Unified Messaging offers everything you would expect from a modern software based messaging solution to enable active social business and collaboration. It fully replaces an existing legacy voicemail solution and it adds significant new features to integrate voicemail with email. The openUC conference server is fully HD-Audio capable offering an unprecedented audio quality for all participants.  Per user personal conference bridges offer maximum flexibility and using in-house conferencing allows cutting cost.
In addition, openUC comes with a very feature complete, highly scalable, powerful and user friendly Instant Messaging & Presence server based on the XMPP (Jabber) protocol.  It is highly interoperable, and known to scale to thousands and tens of thousands of users.

For the virtual workforce openUC includes a mobility solution that in many cases makes a separate Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) application unnecessary.  It extends unified and instant messaging to smartphones, allows for single number reachability, corporate address book lookups and internal calls from the mobile device, as well as a host of other features that come in handy for the frequent traveler.

One of the primary drivers has been the ongoing commitment from eZuce to a forward migration strategy and long term product roadmap for Avaya SCS customers. This program is available from authorized eZuce EZ Elite partners currently enrolled in the eZuce Partner Program.

*This requires SCS customers to purchase an eZuce openUC™ enterprise support agreement to cover all openUC licenses as this replaces and supercedes their current Avaya PASS agreement

The Emergence of Federation

With email and good old telephony we have flat networks where everyone with a connection to that network can reach everyone else without requiring special permissions granted by the receiver.  This opened the door for solicitations and spam.  As unified presence and rich media interactions enter the fray to transform business communications into social business, this all changes.  Federation is a right specifically granted.  It can be granted at the individual level where you invite a buddy to join and the invited party specifically grants or denies access.  This has always been like that since instant messaging was introduced both on the business or personal side.

Federation between enterprises now changes the old way of collaboration between businesses in a fundamental way.  As a matter of policy an enterprise decides to allow or deny federation with another business.  Explicitly allowing federation with your partners and customers not only increases business productivity, it also creates an emotional bond between employees of either organization, which increases the stickiness of the relationship and might decrease churn in your customer and partner base.

If the systems used internally for communications and collaboration are not sufficiently open, then federation across enterprise boundaries will be hampered, creating islands.  This is not just a matter of policy, but also a matter of technology. Read more.....




eZuce Partner Spotlight: Karel Electronics

Karel Electronics has signed an OEM agreement to license eZuce's openUC software and build integrated unified communications solutions for worldwide enterprise markets.

The agreement grants Karel rights to license eZuce's openUC software for inclusion in its upcoming unified communications (UC) solutions - fully-integrated along with its own branded PBXs, phones, servers, and media gateways. Karel will market its UC solutions worldwide under its own brand. Additionally Karel will have exclusive licensing and reseller rights to openUC within the Turkish marketplace.
