Primary Pageant Report |
Last week, Bryn Athyn Church School and friends were treated to a very special pageant depicting some of the Parables the Lord spoke while on the Earth. The pageant was provided by the Primary Unit. We were blessed by the sphere of innocence. The children were well organized and shepherded by their teachers. The musical accompaniment enhanced the pageant. And we were delighted that we had lots of visitors join us for the occasion.
Our Primary Unit teachers, and director, Aline Brown, deserve much credit for putting a complex package together efficiently and oh so effectively. Aline's cuing the various groups of children was spot on. Sarah Odhner never ceases to amaze us with her sweet touch on the keys. The angels were undoubtedly close by.
Our thanks go to the entire Primary Unit and to the crew that worked behind the scenes with set-up and the sound system.

A Successful BACS Work Day
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you to everyone who participated in the BACS Volunteer Workday. More than 70 people contributed their time, effort, and expertise; including current students, former students, parents, teachers, and community members. Child care provided by 7th grade girls enabled parents to fully invest themselves in their tasks. Some of the projects accomplished include: rewiring light fixtures, painting exterior doors and walls, cleaning up debris from the exterior of the building, replacing drainpipes and downspouts, storing and tidying the hallways of the interior of the building, and trimming trees and bushes. Our facilities are now more inviting! Volunteers went home with feelings of joy given their worthwhile contribution.
Special thanks for organizing the event goes to Duncan Pitcairn, LynnEllen King, Liz Switzer and Kirsten Cronlund. We are incredibly grateful to all participants, and look forward to making this a semi-annual occurrence. The presence of the Lord was palpable as we worked together to spruce up our beloved school/church facilities and grounds. We are already collecting fresh ideas for a Spring work day. We hope you can join us.

| 8th Grade Girls' Quilt | |
Do you have a sweet tooth? If so, you'll definitely want to buy some raffle tickets for this year's 8th grade quilt! It's the sweetest quilt that's been made in years, guaranteed to make sugar plums dance in your head while you take your winter naps. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be bought at the Bryn Athyn Craft Sale on Nov. 19th or at anytime from an 8th grade girl. Special thanks to Judy Merrill, Karen van Ham, and Eva Mergen for helping with the project. |
Giant Food Stores A+ Rewards
Giant Food Stores has a program called A+ Plus rewards. It runs from October through March. They give away approximately 2 million dollars over the course of 6 months. BACS can get a small piece of that if we sign up your bonus card. Every time an enrolled card is swiped we get credit as a school. The amount raised depends upon how much the Bryn Athyn Church School spends monthly as a group and upon the amount the entire enrollment of all the other schools spend monthly. Each month for 6 months, our number is divided into the whole and based on that calculation Giant then divvies out approximately $330,000 each month. Please help us raise some much needed money for the school.
It's simple. Click on the Giant A+ link to the right to register using your Giant card shopper number and the first 3 letters of your last name. Designate our school: 03630 (you can find it by name also) click "designate school" and then "complete".
Even simpler, contact Lee Allen, leeasplundh@gmail.com with your Giant number and she will register for you. We just got our results in for October and we raised $689.88!!!! Wow please sign up if you haven't already! |
