| Welcome Volunteers! | |
I'm thrilled to report that our volunteer program is up and running! Liz Switzer is our floater teacher for this year and is doing a fabulous job of organizing our volunteer program. Check out our website for lots of updated information here: http://www.brynathynchurchschool.org/volunteer.html
Liz has transformed her classroom in the primary wing into a comfy place for volunteers to work on projects while they visit and enjoy coffee. There are always new tasks to be done - cutting and pasting and photocopying - so stop by any morning, even if you only have a half hour. We appreciate every minute of your help! In addition to these drop-in tasks, Liz also can give you information about when teachers need support on a regular basis. Parents have done things like helping a primary class log on to their computers in the computer lab, helping supervise lunch recess, helping younger grades get their lunches opened and heated up, or putting up displays. We still have needs at all grade levels, so if you are interested in helping, please contact Liz Switzer at: liz.switzer@bacs-gc.org , 215-947-4086, ext. 262. In addition to these regular needs, please see the following announcement about a volunteer work day. |

Morning Drop-Off Safety
| |
We are still getting used to the morning drop-off routine.
There are two drop off options:
- Drop off curb-side at society building - children only must exit right side immediately
- Drive around island, park and help your children with last minute details and/or walk them into school.
Please wait in the drop-off lane pulling as far forward as possible when space becomes available. Drivers in left lane must go around island; do not pull up to the curb.
Here is a diagram of our traffic pattern from our website "For parents" section:

Students not Allowed in School Building before 7:45 a.m. | | Of course we are delighted to see so many happy children excited to be coming to school in the mornings, but please remember that we cannot welcome them into the building and supervise them prior to 7:45 each morning. |
| Baby sitting Co-op for Parent Conferences October 3-6th | |
My idea is that anyone who needs babysitting while they attend their kids' conferences can just drop their kids (school age and under) off with whatever parent is "on duty" in the baby sitting area - in this case the gym - and payment will be the equivalent amount of your time (of course with your own kids in tow!) to cover someone else's babysitting needs during conference week. This is just an attempt to coordianate what many of us do anyway and to try to make it easier for everyone and to include those who have a hard time finding a sitter. I am planning to make myself available as much as I can that week, but this idea will only work if enough people want it!!! If you are interested, please contact Hilda Rogers jarhild@verizon.net |

Did you hand in your Summer Reading list?
| |
Mrs. Neiger has a large pile of Summer Reading lists, but she knows that there are still more lists that need to be turned in!. September 23rd will be the very last day she will accept them. Before you hand in your list please make sure you add up the total amount of pages you read over the summer, and get a parent to sign the list. Make sure your name is on the list too!
All children who hand in a list by the 23rd will be included in a "Reading Reward" day. They will be invited to come to the library and have a treat to celebrate their reading efforts over the summer. Children who have met the minimum requirement for their grade will also be given a bookmark, with the top readers in the class receiving two for their extra efforts!
Congratulations to all you Summer Readers! Great Job!
