Gail Simons' Good Bye Message
|
Dear Parents of BACS students,
As has been announced, I will be retiring from BACS as of July 1, 2011. After 26 years at BACS, I will no longer walk through the front door of the school each day, but instead will be working 3 days a week at the Office of Ed at Cairncrest. I often tell teachers that being a teacher is the best way to grow spiritually because you have a group of little mirrors reflecting back to you each day as to how you are doing. We know as New Church educators that part of growing professionally is growing spiritually. It has been an honor to serve BACS and has taught me much. I look forward to my new role which still supports New Church education through curriculum development and teacher support. But, I will sorely miss your children. I truly love them, and was happy each day to try my best to help each of them to feel safe, to learn and to grow. I thank you for your support through the years. Through it all, we share the belief that New Church education is a wonderful thing for children.
"Providence continually looks to what is eternal, and continually leads to salvation, and this through various states both glad and sorrowful." AC 8560
Have a great summer. I will think of BACS often from my perch up the hill.
Gail

School Uniforms Lost and Found | There is a large assortment of uniform clothes that have accumulated, during the school year, in the boys and girls P.E. locker rooms. The items will all be moved to Liz Child's area for you to look through over the next few weeks. After that they will be taken to BATS. Thanks, Alex and Heather
|
For Play-Day Friday, students may dress in modest play clothes and please remember sun protection if the weather warrants it. |
|
Box Tops for Education
| Some families have been diligently clipping and handing in the little labels to benefit BACS. Thank you so much. Everyone, please keep saving those little labels through the summer.

6th Grade Country Fair Thank You |
Thanks to everyone who attended Country Fair 2011, particularly during this busy month! The students enjoyed sharing knowledge about "their" country; many adults commented to us that they had learned some very interesting new things about the countries. We particularly appreciated the attentive behavior of the BACS students. Your support of this event was tremendous. See you at Country Fair 2012!
|
Thank you to the many parents who helped with 1st and 2nd grade lunch-time recess this year. We want you to know that your volunteer time is greatly appreciated!

Thank you Kindergarten Parents! |
Thank you to the parents of our kindergarten students for the delicious tasting and looking tables full of food last week. There was enough food that we had a two-day feast! We enjoyed every item, fruits, muffins, breads, dips, treats, and flowers. We very much appreciate the efforts that our parents make to provide us with snack days through the year.
Sincerely,
BACS Faculty and Staff
