Dear Greetings!
The other day one of my 70 year old yoga students asked me how I stay enthusiastic and passionate about life and what I do. And here is what I told him:
"I wear the hat of student more than I do teacher. I try one thing everyday that is new, out of my comfort zone and quite frankly, scary."
For example, last week I flew sky high on the trapeez for the first time. Facing the fear of heights opened up the possibility for me to be confident yet vulnerable at the same time. It also formed a new and riveting hobby. Another day I taught a yoga class in Spanish, which taught me that universal understanding exists beyond words. And yesterday I went to a Turkish bathhouse for the first time and ate Russian food. Many firsts with that experience.
So here are my questions for you:
-What's your inspirational motto in life?
-Is it working? Or are you numbing yourself with materials, T.V., processed foods and shallow conversations and people?
-And if it's not working, are you ready for change?

"If so,  I challenge you to do something, maybe 1 single thing for the next 7 days that brings you out of your comfort zone. Risk experiencing something new everyday that humbles you to be a learner again... even if it scares you."

You'll not only be a more interesting person but you'll also be more resilient to changes in life and grow spiritually.

For in the end what are we if we are not learners and students of something in life? Simply put, we're BORED!

As one of my teachers always says, "We're all just Bozos (the clown) on the bus trying to convince everyone we've got it together."

with love and gratitude fellow Bozos,
-Liza
PS: I'd love to hear if and how you apply this motto for the next 7 days. Please share your experiences HERE.

ALIGN & REFINE YOUR YOGA PRACTICE
by Liza Pitsirilos

1) SEATED SIDE BEND POSE: Target areas to watch are the upper, lower and mid back, shoulders and neck.

Misalignment: The tendency in seated side bend is to 1) collapse the spinal cord and round the back and/or 2) inactive arm and hand which cuts off the energy  flow and lessen the side stretch.

Suggestion: Prevent collapsing and rounding the back by pulling the flat hand to extend the spine. On inhale lift the chest and lengthen the...
