EXHALE -MIAMI
| |
Journey to the Core Workshop @ Exhale Spa- Miami
August 21st 10:30am-1:00pm
When we think of the core, we immediately think of the abdominal muscles. While on one level that's true - part of the "Journey to the Core" is connecting to what inspires you, what nourishes you, what delights and lights you up....the energy that drives you!
Experience a core awakening that will ignite your creative power and passion for living. In this workshop instructor Liza Pitsirilos teaches you to bring ALIVENESS, using focused breath work, into every cell of your body. We will use longer posture holds, external heat, abdominal core work, and a deep emphasis on feeling and breathing spaciousness throughout the body. YOGI GUARDIANS, ON A MISSION TO HEAL by Mary Billards of the New York Times
|
|
ANA FORREST is an itinerant yoga teacher riding the circuit, selling out workshops in South Africa and conducting training sessions in Houston. She is to Yoga Journal as Angelina Jolie is to Us magazine : a mainstay.
Say "Forrest Yoga" to a yogi, and the first word that comes to mind is "intense." It is known for its long holding of positions, emphasis on abdominal core work and standing series that can go on for 20 poses on each side. Ms. Forrest, 53, based in Orcas Island, Wash., devised her rigorous style with no less a goal than curing the ails of the modern world, including computer roadkill bodies (lower back tightness, shoulder pains and neck aches) and spiritual malaises that lead to destructive behaviors like addictions. The classes attract N.F.L. players, recovering addicts, dancers and cancer patients.

EMBODYING THE INNER GODDDESS: YOGA. WELLNESS & INTUITION
by Liza Pitsirilos (Inspired by Reflections from Yoga article)

There is a Native American saying, "A woman who is pregnant is a woman who carries happiness." Pregnancy is a momentous ceremony that changes a woman for the rest of her life. Yoga can make it a luminous time. Recently, I have come in to contact with a lot of pregnant women. It's got me thinking about a variety of issues that confront and depress women every day, including the definition of our worth as women and our cycles of menstruation, pregnancy and menopause. For me, yoga is a daily ceremony of cleansing, introspection and nourishing all parts of ourselves, where we can delve into the mystery of who we are and connect to our own unique gifts. So why not share this wisdom with the creators of our future generations?

first make sure that you are not,
in fact, just surrounding yourself with assholes."
