Dear Greetings! 

An incredible thing happened to me this past week, I decided to join 4,000 people in a journey called Unleash the Power Within facilitated by world renowned life coach Tony Robbins.  Picture a four day interactive journey that guides you to create a life that overflows with lasting success and fulfillment while increasing your awareness of your physical health and how it affects many aspects of how you live. Pretty cool huh? 
It inspired me so much, that I entered a yoga talent search to be on the cover of Yoga Journal Magazine. Something bold and audacious considering how many yogis and yoginis there are out there. But I believe it is worth pursuing! Here is one of the many gems that I took away from the Tony Robbins event:
I can create a life that many have only dreamed about in the past, a life that I am truly deserving of.
How you ask? It begins with discipline of Constant And Never-Ending Improvement. You must continuously seek out new ways of improving your life for you to grow into the life you've always dreamed about. The ideal place to start is with your health. For without your health, you have nothing.

In order to become effective at changing the direction of your life and aligning it with your long term vision, answer three questions:

 

1) What stops you from moving forward? Taking action? Being your best?

 

2) What controls or determines the quality of your life?

 

3) Why do you do what you do? What are the ultimate drives behind all human interaction?

Alignment 101: The Secrets to Standing Poses

Standing Poses (Warriors, Triangle, Pyramid, etc.) are the most fundamental class of postures in yoga. Tadasana (Mountain Pose) is not only the quintessential standing pose, but it also serves as the master pose from which all other poses originate. When you can understand the alignment of Tadasana it provides a foundation for understanding the alignment of all other poses.

 

Through standing poses, we learn the unifying principles of alignment more easily because the body has the greatest range of motion in these poses.
