Ambrosia Lifestyle: Life on the Road in Chicago!
|
Greetings!
Greetings from the beautiful fall windy city of Chicago! I am pleased to be writing you from the beloved city of Chicago a true gem of a city in the heart of the midwest.
I am blessed to be here this week connecting with the Chicago community and offering them a week-end of Forrest Yoga workshops on October 16th and 17th. We are unraveling the mysteries of the neck, shoulders and hips so if you or any of your loved ones are around come join!
MIAMI CLASSES WILL NOT BE HELD THIS WEEK BUT WILL RESUME OCTOBER 18TH.
On a similar note, this week I have been connecting with loved ones from all different parts of my life including one of my mentors Ana Forrest and the Forrest Yoga community.
As I approach a new phase in my endeavors, I have been looking closer at understanding my relationship to myself and others and how they affect my decisions in life.
Taking time for myself, or "retreating" as I like to call it, has given me much insight and appreciation for understanding why I am driven to work with people who are ready to create a lifestyle full of purpose, strength, integrity and beauty.
It is rare to be given an opportunity to "retreat" so instead of waiting for it to happen, seize the moment and reconnect with some of your own sources of inspiration whether they are people, places or books! Today ask yourself a few questions:
-What was the most meaningful thing you did today? -What do you do for the majority of your day? -Why are you doing it? -Why do you spend so much time with it? -Does it make you feel fulfilled? Why or why not? -What is your life vision? -Who are the people who you look to for guidance regarding your life vision?
Spend a few minutes HONESTLY answering these questions and notice what your responses are to them. Do you have answers for all of them? If it's to daunting to answer them all, try doing one a day.
More importantly notice if your responses are heavily weighted in feelings of fear, blame or guilt. Or do they stem from self ownership, innovation and determination? If it is the former it may be time to re-evaluate your lifestyle.

Happy "Retreating"!

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE OF THE WEEK!
Our Deepest Fear
by Marianne Williamson
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Chew On This: Radical Nutrition Tip #2
Chew on This: It takes between ten and thirty minutes sometimes for our stomachs to communicate to us that they are full. It has been shown that people who chew their food more thoroughly and eat more slowly tend to eat less. By the time the slow eater is finished with a plate, a quick eater who probably doesn't chew as much has more time to consume two or three times more food!
Take the time to properly chew all the food in your mouth and break it down before placing another morsel of food in your mouth. Some doctors recommend 22 chews per bite of food others 60! It all depends on the type of food you are consuming.
Possible Effects of Not Chewing Properly
Chewing food thoroughly is an easy way of cutting back on unwanted calories. Our bodies are able to tell us what they need and want but you must give it time to process and communicate these signals.
Improperly digested food particles in the bloodstream can lead to a decrease in vitamin and mineral availability as well as other deficiencies.
In Sum Digestion begins in the mouth. Take time to chew food into particles as small as possible before swallowing it to give all enzymes a chance to play their part. Chewing adis proper digestion in the stomach and intestines, helps you feel full and avoid unwanted calories. It also helps the body get more nutrients.
So start chewing!
