Issue # 4 ~ December - January 2010/2011 |
"When we have inner peace, we can be at peace with those around us. When our community is in a state of peace, it can share that peace with neighboring communities."
AHAA's Mission:
> To gather the wealth of local individuals who contribute to the health of our world and form a supportive community of healers.
> To give voice to this community through educating the public about holistic alternatives.
It is known that by gathering in community with a common intention, we have the power to create a healthy, peaceful, and joyful world for ourselves. That sounds good to me - especially during this particular time in history when we are on the cusp of great change. The evolving AHAA community is meant to support and contribute to a positive direction for this inevitable evolution at the same time that we celebrate our wonderfully diverse holistic community.
With the New Year, AHAA's new and improved website will be launched. Included in this website:
~ Directory of Placer County Holistic Providers
~ Community Calendar of Classes & Events
~ Community Sharing ~ Blog
It is my sincere hope that you will be inclined to join with us in forming this dynamic community.
Please pass this newsletter on to anyone in your circle that may benefit!

A Note from The Breathing Life:
"It takes a community to raise a dream"
We've all heard it said, "It takes a village to raise a child." I've also learned that it takes a community to raise a dream, and I believe that's what we're doing here on the planet and right here through AHAA. We are raising a very powerful vision together and it's gaining momentum swiftly. That's the power of love, that's the power of community. This is the first installment of "A Note From The Breathing Life." I will be staying linked in community with you through this column. I'm very excited about the energy I experienced in the community and am guided to join you monthly in person, while still living in Colorado.

ASTROLOGY Update
December ~ January 2010/2011
'The Capricorn'
By Barbara Ybarra
Old wisdom says that it is always darkest just before the dawn. That is a truism almost as humorous as saying we will always find something in the last place we look! For someone seeking dawn, say, driving a jeep East across the desert, the blackest part of the night is seen just before the dawning glow is in the sky. Unless, of course, there is a "false dawn", spoken of by Omar Khayyam in the Rubaiyat, but that's another story. Otherwise, we can apply the literal daily dawn to the seasonal dawn of the winter solstice, the point at which the Earth begins to face its tilt towards the Sun instead of away from it, thus making the days grow longer once again. Anytime there are cycles, there are greater, slower cycles surrounding them, and faster ones contained within them. This current time period we live in is experiencing the winter solstice returns in sync with a slower cycle of apparant star returns, a reference map for our grander plans here on Earth. When these two cycles join together like this, we call it a day of reckoning. Well, the Mayans do. Nothing is bad news without the possibilty of it being great, wonderful news. That is the way of Tao, the yin and yang of life. You have no doubt heard that nothing in life is free, and yet we look around us and we see that everything that is worth having is free. Water, air, sunshine, earth, fire, seeds - all of these are free. Love is free. Capricorns (more than anyone else except Moon in Capricorn people) know that these things, though free, do come with big responsiblities. The elements in nature must be protected with good living choices, and the love that comes our way must be paid forward, even when it is just between two people. Love is free but it takes work to thrive within us. Capricorns feel that truth innately. At winter solstice we enter into Capricorn, usually considered a rather serious sign . The Capricorn is the director, the orchestrator of the play. At his/her best, the true Capricorn will channel divine energy so that those around can see their own role more clearly and carry out their own individual responsibilities. This year the solstice occurs in Auburn at 3:39pm on Tuesday December 21. See if you can feel it. It is a birth, but also a stillness, and is referred to by all astrologers as the "Aries Point" even though it is at 0 degrees Capricorn. 0 degrees Cancer, its opposite, offers the mother energy to balance the Capricorn father energy. The two side-arms of the Aries Point cross are the equinoxes, Aries and Libra at 0 degrees. They offer the assertive and the cooperative energies. As we go forward in life with this "four pointed cross of energy", we build and create our universe into what we want it to be. All of us do this, regardless of what Sun sign we have. We all have these Aries Points for good use in our charts. Perhaps just for a moment at 3:39pm on December 21 we can all join together in hoping for peace in our world through implementing the cross of energy in responsible ways, and make an affirmation that our grander plans, our next evolutionary stage as humans, will be a glorious one.
Joy and goodwill for all, Barbara
