Battleship Independence is a Trimaran - Just Like WindRiderUSS Independence

Perhaps taking a cue from the first WR16's, in the March 2001 issue of US Naval Proceedings, Commander Joseph E. Skinner, US Navy, wrote:  "Catamaran and trimaran hull designs are faster, more stable in high sea states, have similar internal volumes as single-hull ships, and are more fuel-efficient than conventional hull designs.  In addition, a trimaran's outriggers add stand-off range to the center hull, where vital equipment (computers, propulsion, living spaces) would be located.  This stand-off range would make the ship more resistant to damage from attack."

Well, hopefully you aren't under attack when sailing your WindRider, but it is nice to know you are considered "vital equipment" when sitting in the center hull.   So if you aren't a member of the WindRider Family, give us a call at 888-609-2827 or email us today to place your order for delivery.

Build Your WindFisher to Share with a Sea Lion

Sealion

Jim Brown designed the WindFisher with you in mind, not a sea lion.  But I could easily see one making himself comfortable in the cockpit of a WindRider.  This is a fun article in an Australian newsletter called mysailing.com/au.

But go ahead and watch the video of the WindFisher if you haven't already, and see if you can see the similarities.

Sailing Early - 10% off Complete Storage System

We are enjoying an early spring in much of the U.S.  That means many WindRiders are in the water much earlier than in previous years.  To take full advantage of your sailing season, be sure to have some new storage bags, custom designed as a complete system for your WR17.   Click here to order at the WindRider Store.

Jim Brown to Attend WOW Rally - Newport, Rhode Island in June

Jim Brown at Tiki Bar

Jim Brown, designer of the WR16 and WR17, will be in Newport for the America's Cup event June 23 to July 1st.  WindRider will be there too, from June 25 to July 29th with demo sail opportunities.

Our owners are putting together the location and accommodation recommendations and you can learn more at the WindRider Owner's Forum.  This thread will have the most up to date information about the gathering.  As you will see, there is an area north of Newport several miles (between Middletown and Portsmouth) which has beach area, some camping alternatives and motels.
