Buzzelli Regatta - Sarasota Florida

lineup on beach"Trimaran Sailboat enthusiast Bruce  Matlack participated in the Buzzelli 2010 Multihull Rendezvous at the Sarasota Sailing Squadron Oct 22-24.  It is the largest, multihull regatta anywhere in Florida with a total of 42 entries this year.  Matlack and his WindRider sailing buddy Brian Dahms of Bradenton put out the word to their local WindRider 17  fleet and conjured up 5 boats for a great WindRider 17 turn out of 5 boats. One family towed their lightweight trimaran all the way from Georgia for the event. Their 11 year old son crewed for Matlack. Matlack and his crack crew came in 1st place with 5 first places and two seconds, edging out solo Brian who came in second.  Many Islanders have witnessed these modern, sleek, open boat trimarans (three hulls) often whizzing by our two piers under full sail.  One year ago, Matlack sailed his solo, all the way to Key West,  and then trailered it back to Anna Maria. Matlack is the current Windrider 17 National Champion, and also ranks number one in the US Kona sailboard fleet as well."

When it comes to resources available to WindRider owners and future owners, the internet is a gold mine.  We have the Owners Forum, featured previously, but YouTube is another great place for information.  A video on mast assembly for a WR 17 was produced by Marsh Creek Watersports in Pennsylvania and it does an excellent job of explaining step-by-step.  Search other subject there to see what you can learn.  And consider creating your own how-to or enjoyable sailing video to share.
Thank you for your interest in WindRider, and please share this e-news with a friend.  And don't hesitate to contact me with any requests or suggestions.

Sincerely,
