 Stone Walls of New England
by Author & Tradesman Kevin Gardner
Weds. Oct. 12 7-8:30 pm.
Old stone walls zigzag the landscape, but what do you really know about them?
Gardner considers the mythology of the stone wall and its place in the New England imagination: why we revere the miles of old farm walls that wander through our woods and fields; and why we are driven to preserve,
restore, and duplicate them. As he talks he will construct a wall in miniature.
His presentation is based on his book, Granite Kiss: Traditions and Techniques of Building Stone Walls. This program has been funded by the FoHWPL. |
