Expecting an e-reader in your stocking?
Now is the time to get your Overdrive software installed and ready. Overdrive handles the Library's downloadable e-books and is compatible with the Sony Reader, Nook, Kobo and Pandigital devices. The Library has a drop-box for Toys for Tots, the final collection will be on Dec. 15. The Library will be closed Friday, Dec. 24 and will reopen Monday Dec. 27 at 10. Similarly, we will be closed Friday, Dec. 31 and will reopen Jan. 3.

Miriam Weinstein is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. As a journalist, she has won several awards from the New England Press Association. TEEN NEWS
If you haven't found it already - don't delay, get acquainted with the Informed Teens blog, found on the Hamilton-Wenham Library's website. It contains book reviews, author videos, information about teen library programs & movies, links to websites to help with homework research, nonfiction and fiction lists, how to tango with a database, & more. View the revolving Library Thing widget that displays all the books read by the Young Adult Librarian in 2010 (118 books and counting). Join us on Facebook, and get the jump on teen events, contests, databases, and other breaking news. The Library's teen advisory board, called the Teen Think Tank meets 10 times a year, usually on a Thursday evening. The next TTT meeting is on Thursday, Jan. 27, 6:30 to 7:45 pm.

The Children's Room
Wenham's Banbury Cross Children's Bookshop is holding an In-Shop Book Event to benefit the Children's Room at the Hamilton-Wenham Public Library. From Nov. 26 through Dec. 15, Banbury Cross will generously donate 20 percent of the total sales toward purchasing children's books for the Library. Shoppers must mention that they want the Library to benefit when they make their purchases. Special orders and gift certificates will not apply and sales are limited to merchandise only. The Banbury Cross Children's Bookshop is located at 162R Main Street, Wenham MA. Store Hours are Mon-Fri from 10-5 and Saturdays from 10-4. The Bookshop is closed on Sundays.

AmericanAncestors.org databases feature over 110 million names gleaned from church records, newspapers and periodicals, city and town directories, court records, census, tax, and voter lists, diaries and journals, land records, military records, published genealogies and biographies and more. Access the website from within the Library by using a public computer station or our Library's wireless internet to make use of our subscription. Print issues of the American Ancestors quarterly magazine are also available at the Library.

Koffee Klatch for Adults of the North Shore
Friday, Jan. 7, at 10:15 am: Tai Chi demonstration by Paul Mahoney of Great Bay Tai Chi and Yoga Center. Tai Chi is considered a body art form and is also called 'moving meditation'.
Friday, Feb. 4, at 10:15 am: Cindy Grey's School of Dance takes us through the paces of 'Line Dancing', bring a friend or find a partner here.

The Monday Night Book Group meets once a month from 7:15-8:30 pm with Doris Gallant. The next discussions are: Dec. 20 - Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman, Jan. 24 - The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
Mystery Mayhem meets on Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 10:30-11:30 am with Nancy Day. They will discuss The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp by Richard Yancey.
Literary Luncheon meets on Tuesday, Jan. 18, from 11:30 am -12:30 pm with Nancy Day. The Dew Breaker by Edwidge Danticat is up for discussion.

 Job Seeker's Toolkit Programs
Our panel of experts will guide you through the process in this three-part series.
Tuesday, Jan. 25, from 7-8:30 pm - Resume Writing Jim Stokely provides a 45-minute presentation will equip you with the linchpin you need to guide your resume and job search, followed by the basic principles & key elements of successful resumes. The writing workshop will be in 'round robin' fashion. Participants must bring a copy of their current resume, workshop is limited to 20 people; however all are invited to attend the lecture portion of the event. Registration is required.
Tuesday, Feb. 1, from 7-8:30 pm - "Are you LinkedIn?" Tammy Gooler Loeb will lead this interactive session, discussing effective strategies for using social media resources, particularly 'LinkedIn' to help you access the people and information you need to advance your career. Come prepared to share your successes, challenges and questions. Registration is required.
Tuesday, Feb. 8, from 7-8:30 pm - Interview Skills You've been awarded an interview - now gain confidence for this most important yet nerve-wracking moment. Prepare with Stephanie Lambros to decrease anxiety, providing you with a genuine opportunity to showcase your abilities. Registration is required.

Ongoing Programs - these groups are informal and drop-ins are welcome.
Knitting on Mondays from 12-2: join our group for experienced or beginning knitters and crochet folk. Bring your UFOs (Un-Finished Objects), get help on a problem, or learn a new technique.
Cribbage on Thursdays from 10-12: play this unique card game with a lively group of fun-loving people. No experience is necessary to join in.
