We had a great time at the American Society of Interior Designers Orange County Chapter Trade Show
The "L-Word" The one word we kept hearing at the ASID Orange County Chapter Trade Show was "Luxury". From the magazine publications to the bath fixtures, this trade show had a flare for high-end taste, in OC style. View our quick slideshow of the event.

If you're hosting this year's monster bash at your home, and--like most of us--have spent most of the prep time so far on your costume, have no fear...
We asked Glasswerks' Facebook and Twitter Community Member, Patricia de Jerez--Interior Decorator & Owner of YourGiftCloset.com--to whip up three quick tips on spooking up your home in no time!
1) Worn-down Window Treatment Everyone's seen the cobwebbed window, so this year try taking some cheese cloth and unwinding it to be as thin as is possible. Dip the cloth entirely in either brewed coffee or tea. Let it sit a few minutes until the cloth changes to a beige or tan-like color. When the cloth has dried completely, fix it over the bottom and top panes of a window to give the impression of old, dusty haunted house windows. Cut a small piece of black construction paper in a cone shape with jagged edges, and put it in the corner of the bottom pane to give the impression of broken glass. In just a few steps, you will have added dramatic and dark dimensions to your otherwise pristine windows.
2) Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
A mirror can easily be given a spooky aura by putting small dead tree branches on one side of the mirror. Put a fake spider at the top of the branches. From the spider, very sparingly, at a slight angle, drape some fake cobwebs across the top and about ¼ of the way down the other side of the mirror. Again, very sparingly sprinkle the cobwebs with some white glitter. Set a candle in a skull candle holder (or pumpkin/witch hat/creepy hand candle holder) or simply a lamp in front of the mirror. The light will pick up on the white glitter in the cobwebs and you've given your mirror a truly eerie aura.
3) Fire-Up your All-Glass Table
A glass table top can be a lot of fun to decorate and to transform into a witch's spell-brewing spot. If the table is very near a wall and has a center base, wrap some orange decorative lights around the base from bottom to top. Then place a small black kettle (craft stores are full of them at this time of the year) and fill ½ full of dry ice.

Now you have a witch's work table complete with orange-lit "fire". A skull, spiders, etc. can be added to complete the effect. Just remember to add a touch of water to the kettle to make the dry ice "smoke" shortly before guests arrive.

Halloween is one of the funnest times of the year here at Glasswerks, and we really couldn't be luckier:
Somehow we've been able to find the most talented individuals to join our team, who also just-so-happen to have the best sense of humor.
Every year, we remind one another of the importance of letting loose and being silly, even if it's only once in a while. We share our experiences with you and encourage you to do the same.
On behalf of the Glasswerks Family, we wish you and yours a happy and safe Halloween.
Sincerely,
Ed Rosengrant VP-Glasswerks,Inc. Learn more about us at http://www.glasswerks.com/about To Unsubscribe from this newsletter, find the SafeUnsubscribe link at the very bottom of this message. |
