Six Ambitious Glass Structures in the City of Lights (Part II)
Las Vegas City Center | Last week we listed three glass structures you won't want to miss while visiting Vegas. This week we continue our picks of some awe-inspiring, envelope-pushing glass and architectural design projects in Vegas today. If you see a GREEN RIBBON on the picture, that means we are proud to have had a hand in making that ambitious design a reality.
4. Chocolate Fountain, Jean-Philippe Patisserie at the Bellagio. Bellagio Glass Chocolate Fountain | [Glasswerks Project] Famous for its dancing water fountains, Bellagio Hotel & Casino showcases another type of fountain that will make your taste buds dance. Introducing Jean Philippe's Chocolate Glass Fountain--the largest chocolate fountain in the world. According to Guiness World Records, the fountain stands at 27 feet tall with 2100 pounds of dark, white, and milk chocolate cascading down "floating glass" levels. Glasswerks provided the towering, custom glass case in which this decadent marvel resides. Tease your sweet tooth by viewing this video. See More.
5. Beatles Revolution Lounge's "LSD Ceiling".
Beatles Revolution Lounge | Visit the Beatles Revolution Lounge, located in the Mirage Hotel & Casino, and you are in for a psychedelic experience: The famed LSD Ceiling is adorned with a dazzling constellation of 30,000 diacrylic
glass square crystals reflecting the brightly hued images projected
across the lounge walls. Shining like diamonds, The LSD Ceiling
is a representation of the Beatles' hit song "Lucy in the Sky with
Diamonds." See More.
Jersey Boys Showroom | 6. Jersey Boys Showroom Lobby [Glasswerks Project] Keeping
up with The Palazzo's design theme of modern European ambiance and luxury
living, Glasswerks fabricated and supplied the elegant, show-stopping glass banister that welcomes eager musical goers in Palazzo's Jersey Boys Showroom Lobby. The banister features a design of seamlessly strewn musical notes that reflect and complement the ultra-modern neon color scheme bursting throughout the lobby floor. See More of Glasswerks' recent projects.
This concludes our list of Six Ambitious gLASs VEGAS Structures. Vegas has, and remains to be, one of the most active urban construction sites on the planet, and we are proud to have contributed to its ever-evolving designs throughout the years. We hope you've enjoyed our series, and visit the landmarks come September during GlassBuild America 2010. See you then!

In our last issue, we listed the first three Networking Tips to practice while at an industry event or conference. Today, we explore what happens after the event. After all, genuine networking does not stop when the closing ceremonies end. The effective networker will know how to keep relationships going beyond the first and last handshake. Here are a few tips on how to nurture your networks during the conference off-season.
4. Rolodex Dip.
This is a fun practice when you want to connect with someone but aren't
sure who. Flip through your contact database and Keep In Touch | pick a name. Then
think of all the things you like about them. Now call them up to see how
they are doing. They'll be surprised and delighted.
5. Pick a "Sensei of the Day":
Each day I pick a sensei, a teacher. This is someone who has taught me a
lesson or reminded me of something important in life. Your sensei can
be a person, a pet, a plant, it doesn't matter. The important thing is
to acknowledge that there is much to learn and you are being offered
valuable lessons constantly.
6. Do Daily Appreciation.
Appreciate at least one person daily. Sometimes I do this via e-mail so
I can be thorough. And often, to my delight, the recipient will tell me
that they are saving the message for when they need a pick-me-up. You
can also express appreciation over the phone or in person. Simply tell
someone how much you appreciate who they are, what they do, whatever
about them moves you. They'll be flattered and you'll feel great.
