Excited about Orientation? The Orientation At-A-Glance schedule can be found online. We look forward to welcome new students at the Florence Elston Conference Center between 8:30-11:30 a.m. on August 25th. Non-Residential and Turning Point students are encouraged to check in between 10:30-11:30 a.m.
New students-save time at Orientation check-in on August 25th and submit your ID photo ahead of time. Your ID will be ready when you check-in! Avoid standing in line when you would rather be setting up your room and getting to know your roommate.

Financial Aid
If you have not applied for financial aid for 2012-2013, it is late but not too late. Although our priority date for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has passed, you should still apply as soon as possible at www.fafsa.gov. Take advantage of the feature that enables tax return filers to import their 2011 tax data directly from the IRS into the FAFSA. This option simplifies the process. The Financial Aid Team is here to guide you through this process. Pease feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. This website allows you to investigate several different types of majors. So if you don't know what to major in or if you've declared a major and don't know what you can do with it you can check this site out and get some great ideas. Click on a major and you can explore different career areas, employers and strategies to get a job in those career areas and with those employers.
O*Net Online This is another great site to explore careers. You can complete and "Occupation Quick Search" to find more information about the particular tasks and jobs skills necessary for any career. This site also provides information about job growth and salaries.

Greetings from Vixen Athletics! This month the home team is proud to announce that Sweet Briar College lacrosse player Caroline Baker '15 (Virginia Beach, Va.) recently earned all-state honors. Baker was named one of the top collegiate goalies in the state as voted by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) organization.
Attention all student-athletes: several important deadlines are right around the corner. Student-athletes are reminded to submit required paperwork by the designated deadlines. Please refer to online resources for athletic training and sports information details.

Sweet Day of Service
Be sure to bring back a set of "grubbies" for our Sweet Day of Service this fall! On Friday, September 28, we'll be doing a campus-wide effort - involving students, staff and faculty - to spruce up the campus as part of our Founder's Day remembrance.
Campus "work days" were a longstanding tradition that we resurrected in 2011 with more than 200 campus community members painting, blazing trails, weeding, and deep cleaning. This year, we'll have an opportunity to work together all morning...
