Sweet, Sweet Sweet
Briar Days...

Sweet Briar Day events were held in 26 cities across the country this winter. Sweet Briar Days, set forth by the Alumnae Association in 1922, were traditionally held on December 28.  

 

They are a special day for all members of the Sweet Briar family to gather and celebrate the relationships they have with one another and with the College. In recent years, clubs have been encouraged to hold their gatherings during the holiday season when current students are at home and to invite prospective students and their families to join in the festivities. Riding Alumnae Reunion
April 13-15

Alumnae riders are invited to return to campus for an Alumnae Riding Reunion during the 85th Annual Horse Show.  Activities include alumnae classes, trail rides, silent auction and a lecture by Paul D. Cronin, Director Emeritus of the Sweet Briar Riding Program and Professor Emeritus.  Registration materials will be mailed later this month.

The Body Politic 

Just in time for this year's election, we invite all art lovers to take a closer look at the face of America's "body politic." Featuring caricatures by renowned artist Pat Oliphant. It opens with remarks by Stephen G. Bragaw, Carter Glass Professor of Government, from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9 in Tyson auditorium in Benedict, followed by a reception from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. in Benedict Gallery. Reunion Weekend, scheduled this year for May 18-20, will soon be here and it is not too early to start making plans for your return to campus.
