 O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity: Grant us the fullness of your grace, that we, running to obtain your promises, may become partakers of your heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.   Amen

Maintenance work on the Bankhead Tunnel continues this weekend, through Monday, October 1st at 5:00 a.m.

Blessing of the Animals
Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the Oval Garden
Many people bring their pets to the church to be blessed on or around St Francis' feast day, October 4, because of his love for animals as expressed in his Canticle of Creatures. St. Francis is the patron saint of animals and the environment. The service includes a blessing and is held in the garden where different animals can gather peacefully.


Sub-Dean Attending ARC
Canon Gibson will travel to Wichita, Kansas to attend a meeting of the Anglican-Roman Catholic Dialogue on Monday, October 1 and Tuesday, October 2 at the Spiritual Life Center of the Catholic Diocese of Wichita.


Mass Handbell Concert
Saturday, October 6 at 3:15 p.m. Christ Church-Pensacola
Free and open to public. Reception to follow.
Our very own Cathedral Handbell Choir will be playing in this concert which is composed of 18 handbell choirs. The concert is the culmination of the Gulf Coast Handbell Festival that will be taking place the same day.

    


Vestry Nominating
Now through October 1, the Nominating Committee will  consider names of parish members for election to three-year terms of vestry service. The Cathedral Sub-Dean, The Rev. Canon Beverly F.  Gibson, facilitates the meetings. Please direct to the Sub-Dean or to the members of the vestry nominating committee names of those you would like to have considered. You may submit names by phone or email, as well. It is not necessary for you to tell those you are suggesting for vestry that you are doing so.
