Almighty God, you have given your only Son to be for us a sacrifice for sin, and also an example of godly life: Give us grace to receive thankfully the fruits of his redeeming work, and to follow daily in the blessed steps of his most holy life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Cathedral Notes
Loaves and FishMonday, August 20 at 11:15 a.m. at 15 Place Christ Church Cathedral volunteers will staff Loaves and Fish Monday, August 20th. If you would like to help, please see Sam Power. The Cathedral ReadTuesday, August 21 5:30 p.m. in the Chapter House Christianity, The First 3000 Years: "Orthodoxy-from empire to empire" (Chapters 13-15, or Episode 3 of the DVD) and "Reformation-the individual before God" (Chapters 16-19, or Episode 4 of the DVD). It is an interesting conversation, whether you have read the book of not. Please join us. Acolyte TrainingALL acolytes and parents are requested to meet in the church following the service next Sunday, August 26. There will be a short plenary session with the parents followed by combined training for all levels of acolytes. At the end of the training, crucifers and children's chapel crucifers will have additional training. Choir Rehearsals ResumeAdult Choir rehearsals will resume Wednesday, August 29 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Anyone high school age and above is welcome to make a joyful noise in this vital Cathedral ministry. Handbell Choir rehearsals will resume Wednesday, September 12 from 5:15-6:15 p.m. This choir is open to all high school age and older members who would like to ring. Children's Choir will resume Wednesday, September 12 from 4:30-5:15 p.m. All young people age 4 and up are invited to attend and enjoy this fun group. Episcopal Church Women Sign-upThe Episcopal Church Women is a church-wide organization with the goal of 100% participation from the women of our parish in at least one or more areas. There are opportunities suitable for a wide range of interests, abilities and time limitations. And while historically a women's organization, we welcome participation from our male parishioners as well. Sign-up forms are available on the ministry table, in this month's Messenger (page 15) or
