Come in and meet Cathy's new best friend...
"Steady Betty"
A wonderful new notion that Cathy is featuring this month! This unique ironing surface is perfect for pressing your blocks and strips. It grips the fabric so the fabric weave dosn't stretch. No distortion... just perfect pressing!

Candlelite is stocking the 15"x24" which is the perfect size! It's portable for class use and can easily be stored. Ask Cathy to demo Steady Betty and receive a 15% discount on her!
I'm very impressed with the progress the Farmer's Wife Class is making... beautiful Job!

In my Humble Opinion |

With Karen King |

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I'm finding that Fiskar blades (45mm size) just don't work as well as Olfa blades - especially in Olfa cutter handles.
Now I like a good deal as much as the next person, so instead of purchasing one Olfa blade for $8.00 (the suggested manufacturer retail price), I bought a 5-pack of Fiskar blades for about $15.00. I felt that for a savings of $3.00 per blade, I'd give Fiskar blades a whirl.
My cutting took a beating with the Fiskar blades. I found that they didn't cut smoothly, as if they weren't sitting properly in the handle. I had skips in the fabric, even when cutting on a brand-new cutting mat. My cuts seems ragged, and my fabrics began to fray more than usual.
I switched back to an Olfa blade in one of my Olfa handles, and the smooth cutting that I was use to showed back up again. Fabric frayed significantly less, and my cut edges were clean and straight.
I don't like wasting money needlessly, but in this case, I'm sticking with my original Olfa cutting blades!
