Greetings!

Well, we certainly are having odd weather!  It seems like we just skipped Spring and flung right into Summer!  I actually turned the airconditioning on...  It was so sticky and  humid... justs reminder of what I don't miss about the South!  Then the last couple of days I've had the heat on...  I Yii Yiii... New England Weather!

April was such a busy month for me, I'm still playing that "catch-up game" and I've
been so busy I haven't had much time to shop for new pantographs!  So, select one of  your favorites, or just try something different!  Remember my "First Run" discount, there are a few patterns that haven't made it to my machine yet!  I always have new threads in... I'm afraid it's an addiction, like buying fabric!

I'm starting something new called "In my Humble Opinion".  I will feature your reviews of new products... tried, true and tested to share with all of us!  Please send me your clever finds and check out Karens' review this month!

Don't forget about the May Special, and Quilter of the Month.

Happy Mothers Day,  hope to see you soon.

Quilt Chatter

MQX

MQX was just bigger and better than ever.  Mary and Janet Lee,  once again thank you for such an awesome time.  The quilts were fabulous, the vendor mall was just crazy with excited quilters snapping up great deals and I learned some great new techniques from some of the best teachers in the industry.  What can I say... I shopped, I mingled and just had an awesome time!

HD Loom

The kids were home on spring break.   I thought it would be nice to chaperone a Boy Scout outing.  My choices... the astronomy trip... hum... no... to the airport to learn about aviation.... not interested... and hmmm.., lets see... the American Textile History Museum... hello textiles!!  I had more fun than the kids!  Long story short... I'm now the proud owner of a Harrisville loom!

So.... Yes, I'm Crazy!

"Best Press"

I've been working on my quilting skills lately, especially smaller pieces, sewn on the bias and have found a new spray starch that really isn't like your mom's starch. It's called Best Press, developed by Mary Ellen Products, Inc.

Best Press is a light
natural starch product that enhances water to give you a clean, beautiful press. It gives body to fabric - not stiffness. It makes your block hold
it's shape, and allows you to stitch on the bias with less stretching and drag. When you are finished your block, it looks like a crisp yet breathable work of art!

It
comes in six scents: Lavender Fields, Citrus Grove, Caribbean Beach, Cherry Blossom, Scent-Free, and NEW Tea Rose Garden.. just an added plus!

Find Best Press at your local quilt shop or go to

their website: www.maryellenproducts.com.

Enjoy ironing and pressing!

Shop, Shop, Shop... God, I love a great Quilt Shop!

Quilt Shop

Just a friendly reminder...  it is your local
quilt shop who provides that extra special service, high-quality
fabric, nifty new notions and a personal touch!

Your local quilt shop owner strives for your business everyday and when you patronize them, they keep you happy with beautiful quiltig fabrics, busy with your next project, and learning new techniques!  Corporations, such as Jo-anns simply don't offer the expertise of experience, or the the comfort of a friendly staff.

So, visit your Local Quilt Shops!

And speaking of great local quilt shops... check out my favorites!
