Jasper the Dog

Not coping with the sudden warm weather, but doesn't like the rain either, no pleasing this dog!
Missed his children heaps over the holidays.
But this was made up for by our many visitors to the Cellar Door with children. He loved them all!

BirdTalk
November 2011

Welcome to the November edition of BirdTalk.
Best Specialty Wine Award
Mark accepting award for Best Specialty Wine for 2011 Moscato at the World Kitchen Geographe Wine Show, in October.
Well what a few months it has been - show season is finally behind us, with Geographe Crush completed yesterday. It has been great to be out and about meeting new and old friends and showing off our wine selection.

A huge few months for Mark - winning the Award for the Moscato, and just this weekend a GOLD Medal for the Arneis at the Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show, held in Mildura. Not to mention another Bronze Medal for the 2010 Cabernet and the 2011 Moscato, at other shows.

The Spring months are almost behind us and the days are starting to warm up. Although one would doubt it with all the rain happening this week. Pip has been busy trying to get all the shoot selection finished. That's where we thin out the shoots on the vines we don't want, leaving the best fruiting ones to continue growing. Already the growth is up to the top wires, spurred on the spring rainfall.

The October school holidays passed in a rush, with both our children away travelling for school. They have returned, and the house has returned to normal, or close enough. Both have had a great time with their travels. Gabrielle visited Japan, and was hosted by a lovely family and would love to go back one day. She was very taken with the beautifiul gardens there. Bailey attended a conference of 500 students from around the world at Wellington College in England, where they were encouraged to "reach beyond their limits".

So now like many of you thoughts turn towards the Christmas holiday and the summer break. We are looking forward to the warmer months, time spent with our children, no doubt lots of it at the beach.
Enjoy the lead up to the Christmas break and have fun shopping.

Warmest Regards,

Mark & Pippa
