          Just this week, Targa Resources, a Fortune 500 propane producer, announced it had begun work on a marine terminal that can pump 593,000 barrels a day into Very Large Gas Carriers, that hold 22 million gallons, more than most retailers sell in an entire year and more than you and your neighbors will use in your entire lifetimes. These VLGCs will export HD-5 propane only, because all the countries that take propane into their ports will only accept HD-5, since they will not allow the olefin and aromatic laced slop some call propane to be used for any purpose inside their borders. They know that slop, called in the United States "commercial grade" propane, burns like flash paper gives people headaches and can even make people sick.

          The price of everyone's propane will skyrocket as producers begin to export HD-5 propane faster than it can be made. Pure HD-5 propane, historically olefin and aromatic-free, is the only propane that Thrifty Propane sells.
