Tank Dimensions are a Common Question
Thinking of buying a tank from Thrifty Propane? Our customers have asked about the dimension requirements for a tank on their property. In response to your questions, here are some common dimensions:
· A 125 gallon tank is 5' 9" long and 30" in diameter.
· A 330 gallon tank is 10' long and 30" in diameter.
· A 500 gallon tank is 10' long and 37" in diameter.
· A 1000 gallon tank is 16' long and 41" in diameter.
According to the NFPA Pamphlet 58, when setting a 330 gallon or a 500 gallon tank, it needs to be at least 10 feet from any structure. A 1000 gallon tank needs to be 25 feet from any structure and set back 25 feet from any property line.It is always best to check your local ordinances for any further set back requirements.
