17th Annual Gala a Huge Success
The Housing Partnership's 2009 Anniversary Gala highlighted Strengthening Communities: People Who Make a Difference. Held at the Meadow Wood Manor on November 5, the Gala event honored those who have made major contributions to further the Partnership's mission of Strengthening Communities through Home Ownership.

Buyers See a Renewed Focus on Tax Credits
Credits Extended and Expanded
Now is REALLY the time to buy, say experts in the housing field. Prices are low, interest rates are low, and the tax credit for First Time Home Buyers has been extended to a signed contract as of April 30, 2010 and a closing date of June 30, 2010. The Partnership is encouring their program graduates and future program participants to GET READY NOW!

Pre-Foreclosure Workshop Explores Options
With household debt at an all time high and the shortage of employment opportunities, many families are struggling to make ends meet. Bad things happen to good people and many are facing possible foreclosure.
This workshop, sponsored by the Housing Partnership in cooperation with Money Managment International and the Parsippany Chamber of Commerce, will explore options available to save a home from foreclosure and what to do if this is not possible.
The session is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2010, 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Parsippany Library, Halsey Road, Parsippany. To register call 973-659-9222. Pre-registration is required.

National Industry Standards Adopted
Keith Getter of NeighborWorks America recently congratulated the Housing Partnership for meeting all the requirements to be approved as an adopter of the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling.

Explores Tax Benefits
New home owners and those considering buying are invited to attend Home$mart, a workshop for home owners, on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Housing Partnership offices in Dover from 6 - 8:30 p.m.

Record Numbers Attend Partnership Programs
In 2009 over 300 participants attended Step by Step to Home Ownership, the Partnership's eight-hour comprehensive home buyer education, presented on a monthly basis. This is a 25% increase over 2008. Success stories continue to pour in, with 64 purchasers so far this year.
