Why we post information about Pets and Animals
Good afternoon everyone!

I've run out of time today but promise to give you the details about my past weekend's destination tomorrow!   Many of you will want to book a trip there ASAP!

Meanwhile we have several animal/pet postings.   Last week someone posted a "coyote" that several of you pointed out is more likely a "fox".  This week we have, believe it or not, a "sheep" sighting?!  Maybe they are actually deer?   I've opened up the comments forum on that post so you can start a discussion.   Maybe there was some sort of petting zoo at Brook Run this weekend?

Our goal is to help reunite as many lost pets with their owners as possible and to also help people find new pets to love! We will also post pet sitter information or fostering opportunities.

If you have found or lost a pet please let us know by submitting a listing. In addition to posting on The Aha! Connection please consider also posting with Godoglovers.com directly via their website or email shawnmarie@godoglovers.com.

Wildlife
Facts about Coyotes plus sheep in Dunwoody?

The Urban Coyote - (information from Aware Wildlife Center)

Thank you Carla Bosman for making me "aware" of Aware Wildlife Center!  Below is an article about The Urban Coyote copied from their site:

Coyotes now reside in every state and most neighborhoods from Canada to South America.

Our continued destruction of habitat has forced coyotes and most other wildlife to become urban dwellers.

  • Coyotes are masters of adaptation and only want to coexist.
  • We need not fear them if we understand their natural behaviors and react appropriately when we see them.
  • People in western America have been peacefully coexisting with coyotes for many decades.

Are Coyotes Dangerous? You decide.

  • Coyote attacks on humans: 14 per year average
  • Dog attacks on humans: 4.7 million per year

Attacks are on the rise due to our inaction, inappropriate management, and bad habits. We must fulfill our role as the dominant species so they maintain their natural fear of us. Frighten them by any humane means when they approach.

Will Coyotes Kill My Pet? Rarely.

  • They will on rare occasions take a free-roaming cat if you don't protect it as you would your dog. You would never let your dog face the dangers of roaming free.
  • Unless your dog starts a fight, coyotes would rather befriend him and eat his food than fight.

Dogs
Two available to love!

Is there room for Charlie to snuggle with you in your bed?

Hi! I'm Charlie and I'm a small, young adult, handsome Bichon. Do you like my new hair-cut? I was abandoned in Dunwoody, but at least I'm in DUNWOODY!!! My foster family has 3 boys and I love sleeping with them. The boys take turns with me...I love to cuddle with kids. I'm house-trained & I do not destroy things. My surgery to get "fixed" has been scheduled. Fixed? I don't know what needs to be fixed about me...hmmm...I am a good boy:).

You can see more pictures of me, and others almost as cute as me, @ http://wei.smugmug.com/RESCUEME

looking for new family for Jasmine

We recently adopted Jasmine, a 5 year old German Short Hair Pointer. She is a very sweet dog, but really needs more attention than we can give her. German shorthairs are very energetic and athletic. Jasmine is sweet and loving and needs more outdoor time.
