Tokyo 2010 Global Mission Consultation & Celebration  Newsletter #2

October, 2009
Greetings in the Name of Christ

In 1910, the 20th Century witnessed the Global Missionary Consultation celebrated in Edinburgh, Scotland. Twelve hundred delegates from all sorts of missionary societies represented the Church in Europe and North America. They gathered together to pray and to make plans for world evangelism.

The fruit that resulted from that effort has been dramatic.  Today, one hundred years later, many feel that we can see the finish line of bringing the gospel to all the peoples of the world.  Thus the vision of Tokyo 2010 -- Making Disciples Of Every People in Our Generation.

Becoming a "Renewal Missionary Movement" is our goal and now is our moment!  Tokyo 2010 Global Consultation & Celebration - From Edinburgh to Tokyo is a global expression of the current mission movement in the world - leading the way to show the world that we can work together in new ways to finish the task.

We extend a personal invitation to mission structures and churches to send mission executives and leaders, pastors, and others involved in the worldwide mission movement to join with us as we celebrate this great event in Tokyo, Japan,  May 11-14. 2010.  Delegates are expected from the North, the South, the East and the West, with 80% of the delegates expected to come from the so called "Third World".  The conference is lead and organized by "Third World" mission leaders.

We invite you to take a closer look at the information in this newsletter and on our web site,
www.tokyo2010.org, and to consider your participation and the participation of your mission structure or church  The first registration deadline is December 31 - we need to hear from you now!
