Church of the Incarnation Sunday Announcements
October 2, 2011

We're sorry to report that parishioner Lori Moore's grandson, Nicholas, died suddenly last week. A private memorial service will be held on Friday.

Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant Nicholas. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

Gratitude 11.5.11

Your Animal Ministry wants to thank everyone who helped put on the Pet Adoption event last Sunday. We especially want to thank you, our parish community, for supporting this event and this ministry. We will be offering another exciting event in November, so check out the Small Group table and pick up a flyer!

October Guild Meeting: The Guild of the Incarnation meeting on Tuesday, October 4th will begin at 11:30 am in Farlander Hall followed with a potluck luncheon at 12:00 noon.

Fall Weekend Sale at Heavenly Treasures! We're celebrating Fall's arrival with a special sale! Heavenly Treasures will be open on Saturday and Sunday, October 8th and 9th.

Get in the mood for Fall with Halloween costumes, accessories, and decor.  We have lots of vintage items, as well as brand-new and gently worn designer items.  Don't pass up our brand-new, environmentally friendly, 100% natural line of earrings.  Of course, we have a great selection of books, shoes, household items, and perhaps even a bona fide treasure or two -- all at bargain basement prices.

On Saturday, October 8th, we'll be open from 10-2.  If you can't make it that Saturday, come and see us after services on Sunday the 9th --we'll be open from 9-1.  Don't worry if you can't make it on Saturday.  We promise we won't be picked over -- we'll have lots of good stuff for you on Sunday, too.

We can't wait to meet again over pancakes! Join us October 9th for our pancake fundraiser (supports the Youth Mission Trip). We will see you in Farlander after the 8:00 and 9:15 services.

You can sign up for the Farlander conversations or to attend one at someone's home after the 30th. You can also sign up through an email response.  The email question will be sent to you on the 1st of October. Save the date and "Come to the Cabaret!" The St. Cecilia Choir is already preparing for the annual Cabaret fundraiser that helps to defray the cost of the Good Friday orchestra. Join us on Sunday evening, November 13th. The choir will prepare savories and sweets, and wine and other beverages will be served, while you sit back and enjoy the show. There will be music from theater, jazz, and a few special guests! It promises to be a wonderful night .... tickets will be available soon from Carol Menke or Barbara Avery.

Case of the Missing Kitchen Towels... Sounds like a Nancy Drew mystery! There are several kitchen angels that take them home each week, wash them and bring them back. However, we are running low. If you are a treasured kitchen angel, it's helpful to bring them back as soon as possible.  Drying the dishes, pots and pans with paper towels is difficult and expensive.  If you have any dish towels you can spare, please leave them by the kitchen phone.  Not to mind a friendly stain or two.

The Scarf Project: Thank you all for your contributions to The Scarf Project. Knitters and crocheters have been hard at work thorough the summer and we have nearly reached our goal! The scarves are soft, colorful, and beautiful! But your contributions are still welcome! Scarves should be in darkish colors (no solid red or blue,) 7 to 10 inches wide, and about 55 inches long. Plain knitting or crocheting is fine, although patterns are welcome. I hope to collect all the scarves by December 1, 2011. So if you would like to knit or crochet a scarf for a homeless client of the Open Table Sunday morning Ministry, please contact me, Debora Leitner (523-1536).

Create your own Small Group. Did you know that we have over 18 small groups here at our church? There is always room for one more. If you have an idea for a small group or have been thinking "wouldn't it be great to share my joy for (fill in the blank) with others", then consider starting your own small group. On the Small Group table in Farlander Hall is a flyer with information for anyone who is interested in creating their own Small Group. If you would like to share and discuss your idea with me, call me at 707-703-4162. Or email me (Mitch Garcia) at smallgroups@incarnation-sr.org.

New to Incarnation or have been thinking about joining a small group? Are you looking for a way to connect with others? Then check out our small groups. Small Groups span a wide area of interest. We offer Care + Support groups, Study + Reflection groups, Topics + Interest groups, and Prayer + Contemplative groups. To learn more about each one go to our website and explore the possibilities! If you have a desire to form a small group, I would love to hear from you. You can call me (Mitch Garcia) at 707-703-4162 or email me at smallgroups@incarnation-sr.org.
