Holistic Prayer Group: Come and explore ways to promote the balance of body, mind, and spirit in your daily life by reflecting on the healing stories of Jesus and developing a philosophy of self-care that is based on a holistic approach. We'll read and meditate on the healing stories of Jesus from a new perspective of God's desire to bring wholeness to our lives and our relationships. We'll consider a holistic approach to health which is a philosophy of care that includes a healthy life style and a healthy self-image where one is open to a wide range of approaches that foster and maintain health and harmony of the body, mind, and spirit. Jesus said, "I came that you may have life - life in all its fullness" (John 10:10). If you are interested in finding out more about this group that already has been meeting, come for a cup of tea and an informational meeting on Saturday, September 10 at 9:00 to 10:30am at the home of Catherine Thomson. She can be reached at cqthomson@comcast.net or 528-3538. There is also a sign-up sheet in Farlander on the Small Group table!
From the 2011 Sonoma County Homeless Count:
Sonoma County had a 40% rise in homeless persons in the two years since the 2009 count - one of the steepest increases in the state.
The greatest increase by county region was found in central Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park.
Incarnation's Open Table breakfast feeds over 100 homeless people every Sunday. Now through October your contribution to the Open Table ministry will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to a donation of up to $5,000 in matching funds.
To donate: Make checks payable to "Church of the Incarnation" with "Open Table" in the memo line. Or put cash donations in our red donation box in Farlander Hall.
