How do you turn $100 into $200 instantly? By giving it away! Now and thru the middle of October, every dollar you give to Open Table ministry will be matched, dollar for dollar! An anonymous donor has given up to $5,000 in matching funds to our Sunday morning breakfast program. Make your checks out to the church, with "Open Table" in the memo line, or just put cash in the red steel donation box in Farlander Hall!

Our next experiment with music and liturgy will be August 21, when we hold our annual service in the redwoods.  This year, we'll have a student bluegrass band join us!  Look for more information soon about that service, which, again, will be held on August 21 at Armstrong Woods State Park.  After that, we will hold another gospel service on September 4 - that's Labor Day weekend - and then on every first Sunday of the month for the remainder of the year.  So spread the word!  Warn the neighbors!

Thank You To Our Fellow Parishioners -  The service on July 10 honoring the OPEN TABLE Ministry was so very special for us. It was  an amazing gift to experience the feeling of all of us being embraced in love. We feel such appreciation for all the generous hearts who give so much of their time, energy and resources to this ministry and to all the parishioners for their kindness and support. We feel so blessed to be a part of this beautiful and loving community. With deep appreciation, Ron and Carolyn Rausch.

Are you somewhat new to the Church of the Incarnation?  We would like to get to know you better! Please come to the Newcomer Welcome Party on August 28, 4 p.m., at Father Matt's house. You'll get to meet Father Matt, the church leaders and some church folks while having fun and enjoying some good food and drink! Please bring your family or a friend. The party is going to be a western theme, so if you feel inclined, come dressed in your favorite western threads! Please call Barbara Avery at (707) 577-8718 to RSVP and for more information.

Via Media Sign-up! Via Media sessions will start Sunday, September 4, and run through October 23.

Via Media invites those seeking spiritual community to explore our Christian faith from a uniquely Episcopal point of view. Through an engaging course of study, prayer, conversation and questions, we will discuss topics such as the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and Jesus Christ. This exploration with others includes friendship, worship and sharing a simple meal. Participants discover a church that values reason and science along with prayer and scripture; a church where everyone is included; a church that tells the truth about its strengths and points out its challenges. Via Media, along with the Inquirers/Seekers class, fulfills a requirement for confirmation or reception into the Episcopal Church.

Schedule:

Sept. 4, 11:30-1:30

Sept. 18-Oct. 23, 10:45-12:45

There is a sign-up sheet on the Small Groups table in Farlander. If you want to learn more about Via Media or about being confirmed or received at Incarnation, visit our website at www.incarnation-sr.org or go directly to the Via Media page at http://bit.ly/via_media. You may also send an email to viamedia@incarnation-sr.org or call the office at (707) 579-2604.
