Share and Care is now meeting every Thursday from 6-7pm in the Clergy Conference Room. This is a group for those who live with pain, depression, trauma, illness, anxiety and/or disability. No one should be alone. A group can often help in a situation that is overwhelming to an individual. To name a hurt can lessen its power. Maybe your experience can help another. Come and share with others who live with pain and illness. Past or present, chronic or acute, physical or mental or all of the preceding. God is always with us and works through us to aid each other. All are welcome.
A Rummage Sale Thank you and A Thought (or two)
The Annual Guild of the Incarnation Rummage Sale was the end of June/beginning of July and as always it was a lot of work and a lot of fun. We had some great rummage to sell and would like to thank all who donated to our sale. It takes a lot of energy and thought and planning (and sometimes re-planning) to put together our sale. We need to thank Eric and Ernie for all their unfailing help and humor. I helped on June 27 and it was great to find Alberta Jacobson's daughter Anita there helping. While we were having our lunch break Kathy McMahon came with donations for the sale. Kathy is the daughter of Margaret Beck. I had two thoughts: 1) Kathy, Anita and I all sang in the Junior Choir, Kathy is a couple years older than me and Anita is couple years younger, and 2) some things just don't change, we are still there still working, even if it was my birthday, but then what else would I be doing on my birthday. Our Rummage Sale was a great success, not only for the money we made for our outreach, and the items we give away, but in the way we still can be multiple generations of ladies, working together, teasing and laughing while doing our special brand of God's work. Via Media Sign-up! Via Media sessions will start Sunday, September 4, and run through October 23. Via Media invites those seeking spiritual community to explore our Christian faith from a uniquely Episcopal point of view. Through an engaging course of study, prayer, conversation and questions, we will discuss topics such as the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and Jesus Christ. This exploration with others includes friendship, worship and sharing a simple meal. Participants discover a church that values reason and science along with prayer and scripture; a church where everyone is included; a church that tells the truth about its strengths and points out its challenges. Via Media, along with the Inquirers/Seekers class, fulfills a requirement for confirmation or reception into the Episcopal Church.
Sept. 4, 11:30-1:30 Sept. 18-Oct. 23, 10:45-12:45
