Date: July 13th
Time: 7-9pm
Location: Room 3

Greetings!

You are invited to a provocative six-part DVD-series presented by Diarmaid MacCulloch, an Oxford history professor. Come and join Ken Blair (Philosophy Group leader), and  Mitch   Garcia for a revealing look at the true origins of Christianity and delve into what it means to be a Christian. Ken will offer insights and speak about the different philosophies that were prevalent   during each session.

The series will uncover how a small Jewish sect that preached humility became the biggest religion in the world. The series will explore the main ideas and personalities of Christian  history, its organization and spirituality, and  how it has changed politics, sex, and human   society.

The series includes subjects from Palestine in the first   century to India in the third, from  Damascus to China in the seventh century and from San Francisco to Korea in the twentieth.

Each video is one-hour long, so there will be time for lively    discussion and conversation at each session.

The series will begin on Wednesday, July 13th from 7-9pm   (Room 3). We will meet for three consecutive Wednesday and then take a two week break and start up again on Aug. 17th and conclude the series Aug. 31st.
