Summer Update

Throughout June and into July, the leadership team has been busy facilitating parish-wide house meetings, or Incarnation Conversations.  Using computer- generated maps (thanks to Mitch Garcia), we have divided the congregation into geographical units and held these conversations in neighborhood homes.  To date we have had 16 meetings.  We asked each group "to tell a story about a time when your faith has guided or led you to action or to make an important decision."

Our goal in these story-telling meetings is threefold:

         to deepen our relationships with one another;

   to connect with others we don't know;

   to move toward wholeness as a faith community.

The leadership team is amazed at the heartfelt connections made in these hour and half meetings.  We have had an overwhelmingly positive response within our groups.  On July 10, following the 10 AM service, the leadership team will meet and give careful consideration to our next steps.

Several of our members have joined the NBSC Education Committee.  Their task is to research schools and educational experiences in the North Bay.  Upon completing an information gathering process, the Education Committee will consider how to act upon the information gathered.

"If you are interested in becoming a Eucharistic Visitor, or are currently serving as one, you are asked to attend a mandatory training session on July 16 at the church.  Please see your bulletin for more information."Eucharistic Visitors training to be held July 16! Matt: revml@sonic.net or 579-2604 x102.

Education for the Ministry (EFM) There will be an information and enrollment session this morning and next Sunday, July 16th, after each service in the Library regarding the Education for the Ministry program, better known as EFM.  If you are curious or have questions about this wonderful program that incorporates study of the Old and New Testaments, church history, liturgy and theology, stop by the Library and talk to Patrick Lancaster.  He can fill you in on program structure, costs, how to enroll, or anything else about the program you would like to know.  So come on by!
