A note of thanks: Thank you to all my friends here at the church for your lovely cards, words of sympathy and many hugs for me and my daughters following the death of my son, Matthew. You are a wonderful support to all of us. A special thanks to Claire, Eric and to Harold Julander for his beautiful music. And, of course, thank you to the Ladies of the Guild of the Incarnation for their lovely reception after the service (even without me giving orders). A very special thank you to Father Matt for his love and support.

The Poetry Group is back! We will meet this coming Wednesday, March 9 (1:30-3 pm in the library). "Poetry is the language of devotion in prayer, chant and song. Reading poetry creates clarity, deepens and expands spiritual inquiry, and cultivates wisdom, compassion, self-confidence, patience and love" (Robert McDowell). This group explores a wide range of poets and their poetry. Through readings and discussions we discover the richness of this art and how it can be used as a spiritual practice in our lives. There is a sign-up sheet on the Small Group table if you're interested in joining.
We are sorry to report that Priscilla Hall-Moore, a long-time member of Incarnation and the daughter of former rector Percy Hall, died peacefully in her bed this morning. We will hold a Memorial Service for her on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 2 pm at the church; reception to follow in the parish hall. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Church of the Incarnation.
Prayer of the Heart group practice in March is Thursday, Mar. 10, 5 - 6:30pm, in the Clergy Conference Room. All are welcome who wish to practice the Prayer of the Heart (the Jesus Prayer) in a group. Any questions, or more information, please call Lisa Jang, (707) 527-9549.
Our next "Twilight" Pipe Organ Mini Recital will be this coming Friday evening, March 11, at 6 pm. John Burke, organist at Trinity Episcopal Church of Sonoma, will be playing a recital of "MANUALS ONLY" pieces. John was a long time organist in the East Bay, is over 90 years old, and still loves to play. Last year he was still giving recitals on the piano in the area and has found that he doesn't quite have the dexterity with his feet like he used to. So I suggested he treat us with a program of pieces for 'hands only.' There is a large body of literature of the organ for "MANUALS ONLY," so we will get the opportunity to experience it with John as our guide. Following the recital, as usual, all are invited to a 'no host' dinner at a local restaurant with our guest artist. A free will offering is taken at the event to offset costs and to support the purchase of our 32' pedal stop on the organ. Please contact Harold Julander, 707-694-1896 for any further details or questions.
The latest newsletter has been emailed and mailed by the postal service. If you receive the newsletter by email and would like to have a hard copy, pick one up in Farlander Hall.

The Evening Women's Group will meet on Tuesday, March 15, at 7 pm, at the home of Amy Nykamp. All women are welcome to join us. The commission considers and recommends to the vestry ways in which our resources can be best employed, with the objective to make a positive Christian impact on the world around us. The group currently meets about once every other month, so the commitment is low but the need is high! Please contact Stephanie Blair if you are interested: 837-2972. Thank you!!
What's going on in Small Groups? There currently are some new small groups that are starting to get off the ground. A few weeks ago you read about the Theatre-Goers Group (more on that in next week's bulletin). We also will be starting up an Animal Ministry small group, look for more information in a few weeks. I'm working with a few people and we're discussing the possibility of starting a Cooking Group and an Art Group. If you have an idea for a group or a hobby that you think others might want to join you in, then pick up a flyer on the Small Group table and see how easy it is to start your own Small Group!
