Epiphany Service and Supper! Sign up for the all-parish dinner occurring on January 6 celebrating Epiphany. There will be a worship service beginning at 6 pm which will include the Alleluia Choir and a retelling of the story of the Magi! This is followed by dinner in Farlander Hall at 7 pm. We'll be serving a traditional beef stew. Put your name on the sign-up sheet in Farlander Hall and plan to bring something to contribute if you like. Come and join us for an evening of worship, music, fellowship, hospitality and community.
Please note: Claire will be out of the office from Tuesday, January 4 through Monday, January 10. During that time, please call the Church Office (707-579-2604) if you need assistance. For pastoral emergencies on off-hours please call the Priest-On-Call (707-478-6659).
Next week's pancake breakfast is canceled due to the dedication of the windows and the reception that follows. We will have a pitcher out at the table to give you an opportunity to donate to the EYF mission trip. Thank you for your support.
A walking cane was found in the Kitchen on Monday, December 20. It is blue with flowers on it. If you have lost a cane and think this might belong to you, please call the Church Office at 707-579-2604.
Via Media Sign-up! The Via Media sessions will be starting January 9 (Sunday 11:15am-1:15pm in Room 3) and going for seven consecutive weeks. Via Media is a series of classes that explore our faith from a unique Episcopalian point of view. Topics such as the Holy Spirit, The Bible, and Jesus Christ are talked about and you are encouraged to ask your questions and explore with others through conversation, friendship, worship and radical hospitality! Each class starts off with a delicious meal, a time of fellowship and getting to know one another. There is a sign-up sheet on the Small Groups table in Farlander Hall. If you want to learn more about Via Media or about being "confirmed" or "received" at Incarnation, visit our website at www.incarnation-sr.org and go to Christian Ed-Adult Education or contact Mitch Garcia at 707-703-4162 or email smallgroups@incarnation-sr.org.
The Flower Chart for the year 2011 is now on the South wall near the back of the Church. You will find spaces after each Sunday date for each Month of 2011. You can sign up for one or more dates. Someone from the office will call you to learn how you want your flowers noted in the bulletin. The flower offerings can be given in memory of someone, in Thanksgiving or in Celebration of some event, etc. The members of the Altar Guild will buy the flowers to arrange and place on the Reredos for the proper Sunday you have chosen. More than one family may sign up for any given Sunday. The cost for each Sunday is $50. Just put your check in the offering plate, marked "altar flowers," or mail it to the Church Office.
The Evening Women's Group will meet on Tuesday, January 18 at 7 pm, at the home of B. J. Yeager. All women are welcome to join us. We are a supportive group providing a place to share our lives and our spiritual journeys with each other, building friendships as we go. If you have any questions, please contact Donna Wiuff at (707) 837-8768.
Looking for a way to volunteer in your own home? The Kitchen goes through a lot of towels each week - we need an additional person to take them home and wash them on the same day of the week every week, then bring them back within two days. If this job is for you, contact Marjorie Whistler (707-542-5813) or the church office (707-579-2604). Thank you!
Christmas Cards for Crafts: Please bring your 'used' Christmas cards to Farlander Hall. Next November, they will be distributed to The Living Room, a nursing facility, a preschool and the YWCA's A Special Place, a preschool for at risk children. It is amazing what they can do with them. These groups give us all a hearty thanks every year. There will be a container in Farlander Hall through January.
Jelly glasses: There will be another round-up next fall for them. Jellies and jams are big sellers at the Holiday Bazaar each year. Please save them. Many thanks.
Flu activity in the United States continues to be low nationally, making this an excellent time to get a flu vaccine. Getting vaccinated is the first and best way to prevent flu. This season, everyone 6 months and older should get vaccinated, even if they got a seasonal or 2009 H1N1 vaccine last season. Flu vaccines have protected millions of people safely for decades. Questions? Contact your local health care provider.
Please donate to the "Winter Coat and All Things Warm" Drive for St. Andrew's Food Program. Now is the time to clean out your closets for gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, rain gear, and scarves. Winter clothing items can be placed in the designated box in Farlander Hall. A warm coat or rain jacket is very much appreciated by the guests of the St. Andrew's Feeding Program, who often are homeless or live in unheated housing. Thank you very much. Incarnation has been very generous in contributing to this program in the past few years.
Fantastic Music, Organ-Style! The 6:00 pm, Friday, January 14, "Twilight" Pipe Organ Mini Recital will feature Harold Julander, organist of Church of the Incarnation.
