The popular "What's It Like?"
series continues this morning with "What's it like to be Latino in Sonoma County?" Several of our members will share their stories from this unique perspective. Come to listen, learn, and build-up our community of truth-telling and
relationship building! 9 a.m. this
morning, in the Sanctuary.
We are very sorry to report the death of one
of our long-time parishioners, Jim Dale, who passed away recently, following a
stroke. Jim came to Incarnation as a child in the 1930's and has been a
faithful member since. He will be sorely missed. His funeral will be held here
at Incarnation on August 17 at 11 am, with a light lunch reception following.
The Evening Women's Group will meet on
Tuesday, August 17 at 7 pm at the home of Liza Brickey. All
women are welcome to join us. We are a
supportive group providing a place to share our lives and our spiritual
journeys with each other, building friendships as we go. If you have any
questions, please contact Donna Wiuff at (707) 837-8768.
We are looking for volunteers to help us: 1) record the Sunday sermons each week,
and 2) post them on the website. It will only take about 5 minutes of your time

Summer's Ending Quiet Space: The Bishop's Ranch

Come to the Ranch, Enter the Quiet: Saturday, August 21. 9:00 am to 7:30 pm. Step into a
contemplative space with a mix of silence and worship, movement and meditation,
times for napping and walking, and of course, good food. Claim a space for the
gift of simply being present in God. Evensong with the Grace Cathedral Boys
Choir follows dinner. Retreat Leaders: Nancy and Marv Hiles have been
leading contemplative retreats through the Iona Center for over 30 years.
Authors of The Way Through, An Almanac for the Soul, and All
the Days of My Life, they are part of the worshipping community at the
Chapel of St George. Patricia Moore is chaplain at The Bishop's Ranch
and a retreat leader. She serves on the Board of the Numina Center for
Spirituality & the Arts in Santa Rosa. Cost: $68 (includes lunch and

Volunteers needed to help stock the Giving Freezer! We will be cooking up some care and comfort
in the church kitchen from 1 to 3 PM on Sunday afternoon, August 29,
2010. Please join us in reviving this important component of pastoral care. We
need all skill levels to help in food preparation, cooking, and clean
up, and we desperately need donations to help cover the cost of food and
supplies. Please, if you are able to contribute talent, time, or treasure,
contact the new Giving Freezer Coordinator, Susan Pearson at (707) 494-5049, or
sign up to join us on the clipboard in Farlander Hall.

loss and survival, perseverance and sometimes divine intervention. This summer,
we're listening to some of the amazing personal stories that are carried by
members of our congregation. Please join us at 9:00 am, in the Sanctuary,
for these special conversations.

 Numina: Special Events at Incarnation
-- Summer Chamber Concert Series: TODAY! Join us for the last concert of this 3-month Summer Series on August 15. The concert starts at 4 pm, followed by a reception. Panels showcasing local artist Cindy Pavlinac's beautiful photographs, so you will be surrounded by beauty of all kinds! Featuring Carol Menke, Roy Zajac, Jennifer Sills, Laura McLellan, and Marilyn Thompson performing the works of Vaughan Williams, Glière, and more.
-- Through The Ear To The Heart: Every Monday evening from 7 to 9 pm. Sing the music of Hildegard von Bingen with guide Devi Mathieu. No experience necessary. All are welcome. (Note: This event is on-going, occurring every Monday evening throughout the year, with some exceptions.)
-- Taize Service: Join us on the fourth Friday of each month at 7:30 pm for an inspiring evening of story, art, and song. Kayleen Asbo, professor at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, presents a program focusing on a spiritual theme through masterpieces of art and world mythology, followed by contemplative chanting in the candlelit chapel, accompanied by piano and cello. Our beautiful music comes from the Taize community in France, an ecumenical center dedicated to peace and reconciliation in the world. (Note: This event is on-going, occurring every 4th Friday of the month throughout the year).

Small Groups at Incarnation
What
Are Small Groups?
A Small Group is simply a group of
people who gather on a regular basis for friendship, conversation and support.
We have Small Groups covering a variety of different topics and new groups
forming all the time, looking for people just like you! Check out the Small
Groups table in Farlander Hall and if you would like more information, sign-up
or please call Mitch Garcia at 707-703-4162 or email smallgroups@incarnation-sr.org.

Why
should I be in a Small Group?
The
simple answer is: you will not grow in your relationship to God in isolation.
Sunday worship is where we gather to celebrate and praise God as a body, in a
large group setting. Small Groups are where we see God working in our own life
as well as the lives of others. Small Groups are gatherings where we can
encourage each other and where we are connected with one another - Small Groups
are where this happens. If you are not yet involved, now is the time!
