Church of the Incarnation
Sunday Announcements July 4, 2010 ~Happy Independence Day!
|
|
|
|
Please note that
the Church Office will be closed on Monday, July 5, in observance of
Independence Day.
We Need Your
Pictures! In order to put together our pictorial
directory we need your photos depicting fun social events, parish life, worship
services, music, youth activities, outreach efforts, Numina, or St. Andrews in
the Redwoods. Basically anything church
related since 2008 (the more recent the better). Please email your photos to Linelle@sonic.net,
or drop the prints off at the Welcome Center (they will be returned to
you). Thank you for your help!
The Evening Women's Group will meet on Tuesday,
July 20 at 7 pm at the home of Marti Kennedy. All women are welcome to join us.
We are a supportive group providing a place to share our lives and our
spiritual journeys with each other, building friendships as we go. If you have
any questions, please contact Donna Wiuff at 707-837-8768.
CHANGE TO LAST DAY OF
PHOTOGRAPHY! We had to change
our last day of photography with Olan Mills to Thursday, July 22nd. Hopefully more people can make this new
date! We need at least 21 families, and
only 7 have signed up thus far. If you
haven't yet had your free photo session please call Amy Nykamp at 707-586-8916
or email family@nykamp.us.
Remember, everyone photographed gets a free 8x10 of their choice, and a free
directory.
Father Matt needs help on
Sunday between 8 & 9 am to hang out in Farlander Hall. We have a
few folks who come by for coffee and cake before the Eucharist and a few
remain. There have never been any problems, you can drink coffee, eat
cake, visit with your friends or stay in the kitchen. A
responsible presence is needed. A commitment to one Sunday a
month would be desirable. Talk to Bob Gebhart, Barbara Avery or Carolyn Rausch
if you can help or call Claire in the Church Office. "In this life we cannot do
great things. We can only do small things with great love." -Mother Teresa
The Incarnation Cares Pastoral Care Team is
looking for someone interested in learning about and sharing current
information about prescription financial aid programs with members of our
congregation. It's hard to navigate through the multiple sources of aid
available to people who may have entered "the doughnut hole" or have inadequate
insurance coverage. If you have knowledge in this area, please contact Pastor
Gail (707-579-2604 ext. 103 or pastorgail@incarnation-sr.org) or Jan
Saucer (707-838-2899). Thank you!
Want to Hear an Alarming Thought??? Please heed the NO RIGHT ON RED at the
intersection of Humbolt Street and College Avenue: If you are stopped by a
policeman, your fine will be $270. (The same as if you ran a red light!)
More than one of us has been stopped, don't let it happen to you! And remember:
there is no law that says you HAVE to turn right on red. If in doubt, don't do
it!
Good news -
we can now use the Corner Lot (located on the corner of Mendocino Ave and
Cherry Street) for overflow parking. There is still work to be done on the lot
at some point, but until then, feel free to head there when parking is scarce in
our paved lot.

Join us for our Summer Chamber Concert Series! Here at the Church, on the 3rd Sundays of
July and August.
Each concert begins at 4 pm and is followed by a
reception and a chance to meet with the artists. Panels showcasing a local
artist's work will be up as well, so you will be surrounded by aural and
visual beauty! See below for the list of wonderful musicians and some composers whose music they'll be performing.

So much has been given to me; I have no time to ponder over that which has been
